I have been going here for many years. It was only about an hour drive from my former home and a fun place to go for a few hours. We used to get free room offers and took advantage of weekday stays at least twice a month. I didn’t mind dropping a few hundred dollars when I could play for a long time and stay in a nice room. Also I often took a little money home. They quit offering the rooms and opted for a few dollars of free play and $5 of food twice a month. I have moved to a new home two hours away but still try to go with my friends twice a month. Sometimes I came home with money, sometimes I didn’t but I could usually play for many hours. The last four trips both I and friends have hit our limit in an hour and have to face another 2 hour drive home smarting from the continual losses. Last week I hit a free spin bonus and it gave me 2 spins and $0. I’m playing all lines and betting several credits per line. 2 free spins - that’s ridiculous! Many times the bonuses pay nothing and many of the machines are bonus driven. They pay nothing unless you hit a bonus. I have noticed big banks of machines shut down and more and more machines have huge max bets. You can’t even win enough to play a while. We are planning our future gambling trips to the new Megastar and Winstar. It’s worth another 20 minutes of drive to have fun again. They have just tightened the slots so much it’s not fun. I noticed another tower and parking garage going up. Not on my money.

Remember everyone- this is an Indian casino. You have no rights. You dont have a state gaming board to protect citizens from being ripped off.

You have to pay .50 to bet 5.00 at blackjack table....so before you get your hand dealt you are down 10%. Want a drink....you are going to pay for it.

Unlike Vegas casinos you have no idea what the machines pay back. (Nevada gaming commission has a minimum casinos must pay back).
Indian casinos make their own rules and regulations (they are their own government).

You can go there and have fun. Take only what you can afford to lose.

This place stole my money for a room that I was never sent an confirmation email for when booking and then later told they didn’t see a reservation. My whole family stayed here and rented out multiple rooms & spent money and they refuse to refund me my money for the first room even though we stayed up there and spent money and had to pay split a room with family. What a scam. Never coming back here again.

As a Onyx member with Choctaw Casino in Durant I am just appalled about the way this casino handles its rewards program and perks for their guest. We made several trips in 2022 from Oklahoma City to play at the casino to get to Onyx level. It's a 2 1/2 hour drive to Durant for us. The casino host that we had right after getting to Onyx was great. She would communicate with us about concerts, VIP dinners, etc. And then about 6 months after that l was assigned a new casino host. To say the least she has NOT been a good casino host at all. She knows that we live a good distance from the casino and that we need advance notice of events in order to plan and yet she doesn't give enough advance notice. She gives as little as a 6 hour notice is all before a VIP event. And some events we don't even get an invite too. So what is the point for us to go spend money in a casino to earn Onyx when we don't get invited to events or concerts. We have asked Onyx guest services to assign us a new casino host and nothing has been done. We have asked to speak to the casino host supervisor to resolve this and nothing there either. We have a casino that is closer to home we visit and they always give us ample time to plan for events, and they always give us a room and food vouchers when we ask for it and we don't spend near the amount of money we do at Choctaw. After all the money that we have spent over the last year at Choctaw we ask for a food comp and the best they can do is give us a voucher to the burger restaurant or chicken restaurant. We ask for a comp to the steakhouse and they couldn't even do that. Just be cautious about the amount of money you spend there because the value for money spent isn't the best. We get better offers also from one of their competitors down on the Texas state line that we don't visit that often.

Hospitality nonexistent here. My grandparents chose Choctaw for their 33rd Anniversary and there were avoidable issues from the jump. Front desk was extremely rude about them valeting on the wrong side (they’d never been there before) & inconsiderate of my grandmother’s disability. They weren’t given an accessible room with the sky view they paid for. Only hours after they’d already checked in were they offered to move to an accessible room & by that time they were already settled in & it still wasn’t the view they selected anyway. It was clear front desk was holding the vacant sky room my grandparents paid for to see if new guests were willing to pay more for them. No efforts were made to make up for their poor experience. No apologies nor sign of empathy from the hotel whatsoever. They were dismissive & non accommodating. The premises are lush but there’s no way we or anyone else we know will pay $500 per night to go on a weekend again. Best to go on a weekday & not to celebrate any special occasions here because the staff will undoubtedly ruin it.

To start, we get a message saying we can use mobile checkin. No one working at mobile checkin. Two people working regular checkin. I looked at my watch. It took 28 minutes to get to front of line. Probably 20 people in line, many were elderly VFW members there for convention. The casino floor is huge, tons of slots. We were on floor for 6 hours and never heard one happy shout about winning. On one machine, it didn’t register my $12 ticket and wouldn’t print it out. When the slot attendant arrived, he said the record showed that it registered and implied that they’d have to look at security footage. For a $12 ticket!! I told him, do you really think I would try to rip off a casino for 12 lousy dollars?! It was insulting. Very tight slots. We stayed in Spa Tower. The halls and rooms are very dark and depressing and our view was a roof with a/c units. We live two hours away, won’t be back.

I’ve been to the casino two times. Both times, the slots were so tight it was like paying parking meters. In the highroller room, wheel of fortune with the gold spin, played 21 pulls at $50 and got the gold spin. Fantastic! The gold wheel comes up first and gave me a times two on the win. It goes to the main wheel and lands on $125. Terrible lowball. That was the norm not the exception. It’s not entertaining at all when you’re in the highroller room with a feature and get basically nothing. WinStar has never done that to me. This is not an isolated case, played many other machines with features only to get nothing. Even worse on the casino floor, 1520 pulls before you even went to Cherry. Your reputation, you earned it. I saw lines of people at the ATMs with wide open voucher machines and no one there. I realize it’s gambling and entertaining but come on, when you put yourself into a position for hand pay, you better give him a hand pay.

Read Choctaw’s webpage before driving to Oklahoma. Contrary to their website claims and numerous signs posted all over the property, a small percentage of customers wore masks and security did not enforce the requirement. Many people were smoking and the chairs at slots were not distanced . Wipes were plentiful and the workers there were great. I recommend waiting until COViD threat over, or until posted guidelines are actually implemented, before heading to Choctaw if you have safety concerns.

Just got back from a staying overnight trip to Choctaw casino. We had a great time in most every aspect. We had been going to Winstar casino which is about the same distance from Dallas and were tired of all their construction mess, so we tried Choctaw. Wow, what a difference, like day and night. Choctaw has great easy parking. It's way cleaner in and out. The pool areas are top notch, better than most Vegas properties. The rooms are way nicer than Winstar and easier to get to your room. At arrival we got our room real fast. Plenty of food options with good service. Slots were lots of fun, and we even came out ahead. Lots of non smoking area so the place is health friendly. Choctaw is family friendly with lots for all ages to do from movie theaters in the casino to bowling alleys and a lot more. The childrens things to do does not interfere with adult activity at all. At Winstar people just drag their little babies and dog around and sit them on floor wherever with nothing for them to do. At Winstar the only security we ever saw was a couple old men or women guarding cash pick ups from slots, never seen any security to help a customer. At Choctaw we saw armed professional looking younger football player size men that were very accessible and helpful and plenty of them. Much safer place.

This place makes Diamond Jacks (even though it’s shut down) look like a 5 star Sandals resort. At least they required a room key to access the elevators to the rooms. It’s overpriced hot garbage. The rooms, the employees (mainly security) the food, and the slots are trash. The pool was decent until there was an incident involving my husband and “security” treated him like he was El Chapo. They escorted him to our room told him to not come back out and then came back 2 mins later with cops. It’s a circus and the head of security is a clown. They made us leave knowing we lived 2.5 hours away and had been drinking. Thank goodness I had stopped hours before everything went downhill. They do not care about the well-being of their guests, and that was evident. They even threatened to pull surveillance footage from the night before because evidently there was a problem no one knew about, except them because they said they have audio. So just to be clear they listen to you while you gamble and have drinks with your friends. That’s super creepy. I’d rather play at a gas station game room and crap in my pants than to ever step foot at this casino again. Save your money and go ANYWHERE else. For the amount of money we spent here we could’ve went to Vegas and god I wish we would have. This was the worst experience I’ve ever encountered at a place of business in my life.
