For a small city of less than 30,000 people, this is a fine little museum. The permanent collection of American and European art, while not extensive, is impressive. We stopped for lunch in Zanesville. Decided to check out the Museum of Art since we had a few extra minutes before heading east. We stayed for 2 hours. It could have been longer. Surprise number one was the building. Not what we expected and certainly not in a city the size of Zanesville. Surprise number two was what was... More

Atmosphere is delightful. Clean facility. Staff professional and pleasant. Spent a good bit of time looking around the exhibits. We enjoyed our visit and would visit again as well as recommend others to visit!

We thought that this would be a museum in a house since it featured pottery. I guess we had visions of the pottery stores out on highway 40. We were so wrong! The building was beautiful! The ceramic display of winners was interesting and while it is there the entrance was free. The Roseville pottery (which we wanted to see... More

The unique ceramic art from the winners of the 2nd running of the national (maybe international) contest in the naturally well lit wing of the museum moved this from average to above average. My late Grandfather used to work for Hull Pottery in Crooksville. The display elements of the Museum of Art is excellent and the employees quite knowledgable.
