Great find
Feb 2019 • Couples
We found this wine bar on a random Friday after Googling “wine bars near me.” It’s a great place with friendly patrons and staff. They have a great selection of seldom seen wines. I’m always a fan of finding new bottles to buy. You can order a glass, use the tasting machine, or buy a bottle and drink among friends. I’m looking forward to going back and seeing the wine acumen of the staff.

A drink among friends

We stopped in for a drink before our food tour started. I ordered a champagne with grapefruit bitters and sugar added. Very nice. The staff was very informative about their local wines.

A place to come to enjoy, choose, and learn about wine. (They also have craft beer.) You can choose from 24 choices from the Enomatic wine dispenser--one, three, and five-ounce pours, or have wine you just purchased for a $5 corkage fee. They have made an effort to provide a comfortable place to be in this small strip mall location, the tables and bar are from the 1841 Birdsong Home in Worthington, plus many people enjoy the very small side patio on a nice day. There are snacks available, or you can bring in carryout food from surrounding restaurants to have with your wine. The wine on display is divided by varietals and meal pairings, and also a classification system by color and character. They have Thursday tastings from 6-9pm, no reservation needed, for $15, including cheese and crackers. My husband joined their Wine Club, where you get staff-chosen, one white and one red, with info about the wine and the vintner, on the first of the month for $30/month plus tax, cancellable anytime. Having said all that, perhaps I should add, don't drink too much!
