A friend and I wanted a weekend exscape so we rented one of the cabins up at Cowen Lake. It was a nice time. The cabin could have used an updating but I was told by the cleaning crew that the cabins are being updated....More

My family has been coming to Cowan Lake on and off for the last 50 years. The cabins have changed throughout the years and we have always had a great time. We went this past weekend to celebrate my son's 40th birthday and my nieces...More

Was impressed with this state park. We spent one night August 30 at last notice they had an opening and the store was clean, staff was friendly. No sewer or water but the showers and bathrooms were clean. If we ever RV this direction I...More

Stayed on nonelectric site #17. Which is great for the little shade but the sewer manhole is right there. Bathroom at boat dock there was dirty. Kayaking on the lake was great! Beautiful lily area in the cove. Showers at electric site were clean. Park...More

My husband and I just returned from a one night stay in the non electric campground. The grass, beach, sidewalks, boat ramps, roads etc are covered with geese droppings. I counted over 200 geese this morning. There were only a couple of people on the...More

Nice spacious camp sites, BUT there is no sewer or water hookups at each one. There is water hydrants to fill your fresh water tanks with and hydrants throughout the park to fill water jugs. The bathrooms and bath houses need some updating and de-molding....More

I have been to many state and national parks and this was one of the worst. Lake was a deep green murky color, cabins were outdated and needed maintenance (Cabin #6 had a drippy bathroom faucet with black mold under the sink), lack of hiking...More

If you enjoy a remote quite relaxing weekend this is a great place to go to. They allow small boat engines 9.9 and under. The fishing is great with Crappie and Muskie. Campground is very nice and beautiful.
