Wonderful, peaceful place
May 2021
It was early in the season but the azaleas and rhododendrons were in full bloom and well worth the visit.
Chance meeting with the garden supervisor was a treat and were the conversations with the volunteers working in various sections of the gardens. This is not out first visit but the first since it became part of the Toledo park system. Will be back

More of a park
May 2021 • Couples
Free admission but that is because this is more of a city park than a traditional botanical garden. Lots of nice walking paths. An artistic village at the beginning.

Serene and beautiful

I love this place. It's lovely year round but especially in the summer--of course. It's also the only park you can go to get away from others' dogs.

Wonderful Sunday stroll on a sunny day!
Aug 2020
Visited on a recent sunny Sunday afternoon. One of the first things that struck me was the beautiful Grand Allee with its beautiful trees (reminding of sights in some legacy European gardens). Enjoyed the Perennial Garden, the Pioneer Garden with its Pioneer Log Cabin, Sycamore Allee, the Hostas Garden, and more. The sculptures scattered throughout the gardens are interesting and add to the ambience of the gardens. The Secret Forest playground is great for the youngsters (and allows for a break in walking the grounds). Picnicking is allowed. Free admission too! The Artists Village looks like a great place to visit, but given the times, was closed during our visit.

Enjoyed our visit

This was a lovely stop on our way to the airport after we checked out from our hotel. It's a gorgeous, well maintained space. We had fun looking around taking photos.

Wonderful Artist Village and Gardens!
Dec 2019 • Friends
Can’t say enough good things about this place! Terrific artist village with classes available. Even in winter it’s pleasant and easy walking. I’ve been there in spring, summer, and fall as well and there are always beautiful things to see in the garden areas as well as educational information!

See Beauty. Have Fun. Enjoy. then Repeat
Oct 2019
Our family meets here a few times a year as a place where our grandkids can see their cousins and spend the day in nature. So many different aspects from the art gallery, to the various displays, the walking trails, the new playground, and most of the all the beautiful gardens.
Toledo Botanical Gardens is a repeat stop for our family and will be for years to come.

Pretty grounds.

Took a hike around the gardens. Very pretty place. Monday not the best day to visit, none of the shops were open. Great playground area for kids and adults also.

Delightful
Aug 2019
The Botanical Gardens are a great asset to the city of Toledo. It's a wonderful place to walk and get away from it all. The grounds are well maintained, and all kinds of plants are here to enjoy. The views over the grounds and the lakes and streams are delightful. Artwork pops up in unexpected places.

The gardens are probably best enjoyed on a weekday. When we were there the atmosphere was somewhat ruined by a rowdy wedding party and some person playing a boom box. Although bikes aren't allowed in the ground two kids were racing each other along the paths.
