Visited in early april, not much growth but the birds were active. Very curious to see the widlife and growth once summer rolls in. Will be back.

This is a no-frills nature walk. If you want to be surrounded by the "Black Swamp" the way it must have been a few hundred years ago, this is the place to see! A boardwalk takes you through a wandering trail of this natural area that is teeming with wildlife; plenty of amphibians, birds, and of course, insects. It's a... More

Wow this place was fantastic! If you love wildflowers this was the place to be. Trilliums and Wood Betonies as well as native Honeysuckles!

A carefully protected piece of a very endangered habitat. From the parking lot, a boardwalk without handrails stretches out across the property, touching all of the significant environments located there. This is a great place to walk on the boardwalk through marshes. It's a place that every nature lover should visit. While you're there you feel like you're a long way from civilization and have a chance to see wildlife as it should be viewed. It is well kept and worth the trip.

I love this boardwalk trail through marshes. One of the hidden gems of northwest Ohio. Walk with your camera in the snow during winter or during a summer evening and it's gorgeous with lots of great shots.

Irwin Prairie is a small nature preserve. It is one of the few remaining wet sedge meadows left in Ohio. A 1 1/4 mile long, well built boardwalk takes you through the preserve. Best viewing times are in July and August to see the summer wildflowers. Because the ground is usually wet and has standing water be sure to bring... More

While a small preserve the summer months provide some beautiful flowers and vegetation. The neighboring Metropark offers even more exploration and trails. Located off Bancroft street. http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/dnap/location/irwin_prairie.html
