A great historical walk

As beautiful as any park you would visit with lots of local history. Try to get a tour to learn all about the amazing architecture.

Burial site of many of the most famous families in Toledo's past with beautiful setting of lakes, streams, wildlife and flora found only at Woodlawn in northwest Ohio. Very well kept. They have nature walks for the trees and a weekly Birding walk led by Patty Toneff

If you love walking thru cemeteries, this one is amazing!! Dates back years and years!!! Some stones are so old, you can't read them anymore. I love walking thru just picturing the people that once walked on this earth. How different they were from us today. If you like history, take a stroll thru this one.

Beautiful landscaping, great old trees and a multitude of artful memorial stones make for a pleasant trip through the grounds of this burial place. Make sure you find the Old Newsboys Pyramid monument.

Beautiful cemetery, worth the visit. The pyramid was pretty cool to see. This is a very peaceful cemetery, very well kept and a lot of beautiful mosuleums. Lots of old history. I highly recommend visiting this cemetery if you are looking for something to do in Toledo.

Very tranquil place. It's laid out in different areas. Was surprised to see an area only for infants. The stones and monuments are beautiful. The lake area in very relaxing. I happened on this place when my son was learning to drive. with all the roadways and very little traffic it worked out nicely for him to learn the size... More

Woodlawn Cemetery has the most unusual monuments that I have seen. That it is an historical cemetery shows that many prominent people of our city chose the beauty of this cemetery for their final resting place.

Established in 1876, this beautifully landscaped cemetery was part of the nation's rural cemetery movement. This focused on establishing cemeteries outside rapidly growing cities to address overcrowding, possible public health risks and the need for leisure space. Woodlawn is on the National Register of Historic Places Today, at least 65,000 individuals, from babies to prominent Toledo citizens, are interred within... More

No zombies! Great place to play frisbee with the dog. Although you might need to move a few large rocks outta the way, that seem to litter the place.
