A cemetery with special tributes to veterans as well as a wonderful historic charm. We would have loved a brochure or guidebook but settled for using the website on a lovely Sunday morning.

Ferncliff is one of the most beautiful cemeteries you willl see. Plantings are exceptional, both the old and the new, with numerous varieties. Same for gravesites. All of this on gently rolling hills and flat terrain. Beautiful in snow, as well as in spring, fall, and summer. Interesting to get out and walk, reading the numerous markers.

This cemetery is beautiful, filled with flowering trees and plants. It is ,also, where my aunt and uncle are buried and I recently found out that it is where my great-grandparents are buried. I would like to offer a special thanks to the office staff who helped me locate their unmarked grave. For my first visit to their grave, I was happy to see that they rest in the shade of a beautiful flowering tree.

Graveyards are usually not a place we want to visit for many reasons. Many of the reasons are associated with a loved one who might be laid to rest in the consecrated earth. But if you look beyond the loved one and see the history of the community represented by those interned there, it brings wonder and amazement. The sad part is the headstones don’t speak the whole story of the individual being honored in death. The rich heritage of Fern Cliff is measured by the individuals buried there. It is the resting place for soldiers of past wars, a governor of Ohio, a daughter of a professional baseball player, community leaders, great people, and wonderful friends of yesterday. The grounds are beautiful and fit for the resting place of kings and queens!
