my wife and i have been on the CLEVELANDER many times. the reason we keep on returning is because, CAPTAIN JOHN, has been on the lake for many years, and knows it better then most 'fishermen'. yes, john may move the boat more then some people like however, even if the fish finder is showing fish, that does not mean they are biting. nothing makes john happier then, when people catch fish. when he finds the SPOT and,he knows many of them, you will be glad, that he did move the boat. John, has not been the proud 'CAPTAIN' of the Clevelander, for as many years as he has, by just staying in one spot. as any fishermen knows, if the fish are not biting, you have to find the Honey Hole, where they are biting! my wife and i will enjoy many more great days, with john, out on our "great lake". I highly recommend , a day aboard the Clevelander 2. sincerly, Dan the tree Man. U.S. ARMY RETIRED

We left late and returned early. The captain was always moving without asking or telling us. There were a few spots I would of liked to stay at and try a bit longer. Was not worth the money. So disappointed wouldn't recommend this charter to anyone.

We went out half a dozen times on the Clevelander II last fall and twice, because the yellow perch were not biting the Captain gave all passengers a free pass, (good for one year). About 20 people fishing each trip and only 6 to 12 fish were caught. I've fished party boats all over the country dozens of times and never has a free pass been issued due to the lack of not catching fish. The weather was fair on both occasions so that didn't come into play unless you want to count light seas and a rising barometer. I've come back empty on several occasions in salt and fresh water and there was NEVER anything like what Captain John did in handing out the free passes. Their rates are a little cheaper than the others and they give you the same or a little more in fishing time due to their location. The other Headboats are good to very good as well, but I'll stay with Clevelander II. Another thing to consider....every mate on every boat expects a tip, some work their butts off and deserve a good one. Others....well, you know. Not here. John said it would be better if I would donate it to a worthy cause. Try a couple of the others and then try C. II. Report your results.
