Firelands Winery was founded in 1880 under the name Mantey Vineyards and has been producing high quality wines ever since. Join us at the winery in Sandusky Ohio and see what we are all about. There is a self guided tour that allows you to see the different aspects of production from an interesting perspective, a tasting bar where you can try a selection of our world class wines, and several intimate seating areas where you can share a bottle of wine with friends and family. All in all Firelands Winery is a great place to spend an afternoon.

Myself, my husband, cousin and his fiance went to Ohio for the weekend to check out Cedar Point for the first time. But during our free time when we were't at the park, we tried out this winery and we weren't disappointed. The staff were very welcoming, nice and knowledgeable. We all participated in a tasting which was only $3!!... More

We enjoyed this winery and the atmosphere. They have numerous wines, something for all tastes. They are in the process of putting in a very nice back patio for sitting outside but inside they have plenty of places to have a glass of wine.

I was more impressed with the wines than the winery itself. The outdoor patio and surrounding grounds are lacking the ambiance of some other wineries I've visited. But in all fairness, Firelands Winery is undergoing some renovations to allow for more outdoor seating as well as a kitchen expansion with a brick pizza oven. The wine flights are *very* reasonable... More

Have a few hours to spare? I suggest spending it here. Flights of wine samples are $3 with several types of groupings to choose from. A large selection of wine - dry, whites, reds, sweet, semi-sweet, Italian....they have it all. Large cheese, cracker and meat plates are available for purchase and help to cleanse the palette. The winery is undergoing... More

If you like to visit wineries, don't skip this one! The flights are definitely worth the price and then some!

We have started stopping in for a glass of wine or split a bottle.since I retired this year. Today my husband and I shared a bottle of Walleye White. During the week, you can sit at the bar and share conversation with the friendly staff and other visitors. Today - Saturday- the bar stools were removed to make room for... More

Expected a much better experience based on all the positive reviews. Sampling staff did not greett me when I walked up to the counter. She looked at me like "what are you here for?" I tried to start a conversation about how the sampling worked and she told me to read the blackboard. I enjoyed the wines but felt very... More

I've been going to another winery in the area and decided to check this one out recently. I'm glad I did! Offering a wide selection and generous tastings, as well as a spiced wine called "Ugly Sweater" that is perfect on a chilly day, The Firelands is now on my we must stop in before we head home list.

Monday afternoon adventure with the kids at school. Bartender was on lunch but the office worker helped us out while chatting us up and enjoying herself. Grabbed a bottle of wine and a cheese board and sunk into the couches. Try all the sweets Ohio is known for but dont forget the Malbec they just produced also. Thanks for the... More
