A small park with plenty of parking at the library across the street. This was a quick stop while passing through but it lets you see the full scope of canal history. A fully restored canal boat you can walk on, a restored lock number 13, and a stretch of the original canal. It would be a real loss to get anywhere near St. Mary and not take the time to see this.…

Memorial Park contains a beautiful replica of a canal boat, complete with mule for towing. The park also contains a covered bridge that goes over the St Marys River and provides access the tow path. Nearby, the library sports beautiful murals about the area's history. A short walk or drive to Geiger Park provides a view of a canal aqueduct. In early June, dames rocket and fragrant multiflora rose is in bloom along the towpath. Turtles can be seen sunning themselves on logs in the towpath (walking north from town).…

This is such a beautiful place to take photos. The information provided is educational and the monuments were great. We took a long walk admiring all the beauty and reading the information provided. There were so many places to see in that area. Our walk ended up being well over an hour as a trail goes along the canal and it was so quaint and quiet. The canal boat was awesome!…

My daughter came here to take her Senior Photos. Came out Beautifully! ♡ Lots of different spots too. There is also a trail for walking. There is lots to do here. Library is across the street, grab a book and enjoy the scenery.

Was in St Mary's for a concert and walked to the park. Canal boat is nice to see just my favorite was the covered bridge and the monuments etc in honor of their veterans Nice walk that takes only a few minutes. Free. Boat is to view only. Not working boat. Canal it rests in is short.…
