My wife and I took two of our children (ages 12 and 14) with us to visit these trails just outside of Hocking Hills (Logan, OH) and Lancaster, OH. We've driven by this metro park several times on the way to Hocking Hills; however, this...More

This sprawling nature preserve is worth visiting throughout the year. The road along pretty Clear Creek is a delight, twisting beside the stream, massive sandstone cliffs and towering, forested hills. Several well-maintained picnic areas await, as does a network of hiking trails, ranging from easy...More

The trails are the best locally. Hilly and lined with trees and vegetation. Definitely take a hiking stick. Gorgeous views and lots of stone outcroppings. Fern Trail is my favorite.

After hiking at Hocking Hills, we decided to try Clear Creek. This was a great hike that had plenty of trail options with a whole lot less people. Also had some higher hills for a challenge or two.

The largest of the Metro Parks, and probably the quietest, because it's the furthest from Columbus. Good range of trails, from some flat ones running through meadows to long, steep ones through hemlock forests.

Great park! Amazing trails! Moderate hike not too hard, but be prepared to go up some about 65-70 degree slopes. The forest looks amazing i enjoyed all the wilderness. This trail can be a little rough on children and elderly. Depending on how in shape...More
