My husband and daughter had skydiving on their bucket list so they made reservations with Aerohio Skydiving. The experience was out of this world.

They make sure that safety is their first priority. They explain everything that will be happening and what you have to do once you were in the plane. We had watched people land prior to jumping and could not believe how smooth the landings were. It was amazing to watch the single skydivers land on their feet like they were just walking.

The employees were so friendly and would actually sit and talk to people in between their jobs.

I would highly recommend them if you want to go skydiving.

I highly recommend this place if you are looking to skydive. The staff are fun and playful while ensuring safety and professionalism. They prepare you well for the experience, letting you know what to do and expect the entire time. I felt 100% comfortable the entire time which made for an enjoyable experience. One of my friends was a bit nervous and if you give them prior permission they will see that you follow through. This was important to her because she did not want to jump at the end but was so happy she did that she’s planning to go back! It should be noted that they do pass out envelopes at the end for tips. This is completely acceptable in my opinion and only important to note so that you have cash on hand to tip them!

They do have a spectator area that is near the parking area. It’s important for your spectators to arrive at the same time you do, as on a good day they get you in and out rather quickly. We were there around a half hour before getting on the plane.

Get ready for an adrenaline rush!! I was looking for a good place to take my first tandem skydive and my experience was great at AEROhio. AER Ohio is located in Rittman, OH (roughly 45 minutes south of Cleveland). It was a hot day and I booked an early jump thinking I'd beat the rush on a weekend. Keep in mind that the whole process of jumping is fairly quick, but everything leading up to it is long. Start by filling out paper work warning you about injury, death, etc. (all the fun stuff you should know before taking the plunge.) If after reading that you still want to do it, step into a little room to watch a short video about the experience. The video narration by a long bearded man in the video is interesting…you will hear more warnings about death and injury. Finally, its time to get harnessed in! Be sure to use the restroom (there's a porta potty by the office) before you get strapped in. Probably should avoid drinking too much water or eating much before your jump. You will be strapped against someone for a tandem jump, packed into a little plane like sardines, and the sheer adrenaline will make you feel like you need to run to the restroom again!! You may be on the plane with other tandem jumpers and some that are in skydiving school.

As for the jump…you'll be sitting on the edge of the plane with your feet dangling out of the open door at 12-14,000 ft. up and before you can think…you'll push forward and head down for a 45 second free fall! That's probably the 'scariest' part for most. Once you hit about 5,000 ft., its time for the parachute. From there, you should feel calm and just take in the view as you float above like a bird flying over the farm lands in the area. The landing was smooth and we were done in about 15 minutes. Wear tennis shoes and be sure they are secure. As for what to wear…something comfortable. Also note, its a lot colder at a higher altitude, but after your free fall and the parachute opens on your descend, you start to feel the normal temperature (in our case 90 degrees!). You have the option to wear a jumpsuit or not. Most chose not to wear it, which is common for tandem jumps.

I ordered the photo/video package for $99, but I wish there were most photos of me and maybe some better ones as I hung over the edge. I noticed there were a lot of photos of all the other skydiving students. If I'm paying that much, I don't care to have that many photos of them sitting on the plane. There may have been a few I liked, but not as many nice ones as I thought. However, since I'm not sure if I'll do skydiving again (just wanted to check it off my bucket list), it was worth it for me to get photos. What's nice is they burn everything onto a flash drive making it convenient to take home. There are no single photo packages (some asked if they can just pay for a single photo). You must get the photo and video option for the price. Other than that, the experience was good. I'd recommend AEROHIO for your first jump and beyond.

Bring some water (or purchase a cold bottle there for $1) and a snack for after your jump. If you have friends or family coming to watch, they should probably bring a book or something to do because they will be waiting for about 3 hours (depending on how busy it is).

Note: There are discounts if you decide to jump again at a later date after doing your first dive.

I did my first tandem at Aerohio 3 years ago and soon thereafter decided to learn to skydive. The instructors were great. Aerohio is a great place and I have made many new friends there. Everyone should try skydiving at least once in their life to experience freefall. You won't regret it.

This is a thrill of the lifetime. I didn't skydive but my husband did and he couldn't stop smiling. Everyone I saw there was smiling. My husband had thorough safety training and all of it helped him to accomplish is 60th birthday wish; to jump solo. Yes, solo (with some professional guidance). If you are attending and not jumping bring reading material and snacks. They provide picnic tables, vending machines and places to potty. The entertainment revs up when the tandum students arrive and the jumping begins. Do it!

I jumped at Aerohio again this past weekend. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the drop zone and the constant activity. The main draw of this drop zone is they usually have larger faster aircraft than the others in the area. They have a very good student program with a very large and wide open landing area. This place is great for a first jump or if you are in the area and want to get the knees in the breeze.

Only con was we waited well past our appointment time and the place was disorganized but the overall experience exceeded all that. Wonderful and helpful staff. I felt safe. My tandem jumper was great (I totally forgot his name.) I loved it all!

I am trying to skydive on every continent, thanks to my traveling job, and this was my first skydive in North America. I was prepped by Chris prior to the flight and he was super!!! Made me feel welcome and safe!!! I went tandem with Craig (over 6,000 jumps) and it was super!!! They gave me an altimeter to wear on my wrist and we went up a little over 13,000 feet!! Jump was great and the thrill hard to describe. My videographer, Dave, was also great!!! It was less expensive here than the other places I have been but I'm not complaining!!! I will be back!!!!!! Thanks everyone. I also got a short video of the jump, walking to the plane, free falling and landing plus a ton of pictures... good deal for that also money wise!!!!
