The best time to visit a winery is not when they aren't squeezing grapes.

The grape juice is the best I've ever had and they deliver to the ferry!! Wine is awesome. Mid range prices on wine but a great buy for the quality.

Great winery with very reasonably priced wines that are very nice. Some were too sweet for our liking, but they had a good wine list with many varieties, and they served them in their wine garden as well as selling them. After four generations they have this down to an art and do it very well. They also serve light... More

stopped by on a day trip to put-in-bay. the place was run down. bathrooms in poor shape. you had to spend $2.50 for a plastic cup to taste each wine. they served cheese cubes on a foam plate. seating was a bunch of picnic tables that needed painting surrounded by a chain link fence. worst 'winery' I have ever been... Our tour guide seemed nice enough but needed a little more training in public speaking. Also in the middle of our tour a younger guy with dark hair interrupted our tour guide to ask him to help him. "As soon as your done with this... You're going to help me." It was awkward and not professional. We enjoyed the wine... More

We always have a great time at Heinemans Winery. Nice place for seating inside or the back patio. We love the cheese plates and the samples of wine. We often purchase bottles of wine to share with friends.

This is an older family owned winery, the people were nice enough but frankly there isn't that much going on to make an interesting tour. Most of it was spent talking about the different wines they make, which were surprisingly good, They were doing some bottling this day but that isn't all that interesting since it is just sucking stuff... We took a tour of the Crystal Cave and received a free drink ticket for Heineman (attached to the cave tour) as well as a tour ticket to see how the wine is made. I don't typically like sweet wines but the Pink Catabwa is delicious! Liked it so much I brought some home for me and gifts.

My neighbor and I had our husbands stop at the winery for antasting because we love wine. Each of us bought a glass (Dixie cup) of Pino Grigio for $2.50 each. We had considered getting a bottle of Put in Bay wine to take home. The wine had a strange taste and we quietly threw out the wine and left.... More

The winery does have a couple of good wines that suits our taste, but the sangria is very good. Comes in a large pitcher with lots of fruit and is iced down not a slushy.

There is a wine for everyone. The glasses are really small. Get the bottle it is cheaper. Nice place to enjoy conversation and friends and wine.
