I've been over to PIB many times. Believe me. I'm way beyond the party animal stage. I really just like seeing the sights and I always have a camera with me. This year the camera was attached to my drone so I got some nice shots. Least expensive way to get there is the ferry from Catawba Island. For a... More

It was a treat to hear about the history of this monument and to go to the top. I am afraid of heights but it wasn't too bad. My son loved it!

We never had to wait long. Before you go up there is a large marking on the floor where underneath it are buried British and American officers killed in the Battle of Lake Erie. Then you climb about a couple of dozen or so steps to pay a small fee to go to the top. After paying you have to... More

I always enjoy learning about the places I visit. I have lived on Lake Erie all my life and had not seen this until I moved away. Love that it is a Peace Memorial for all that fought (not just who won) the battle.

Very interesting ; especially when the soldiers are there informing you on the war of 1812. It was so interesting to see the musket guns go off. The elevator wasn't working but still a good monument to see.

didn't know what to expect upon a visit to the memorial - was absolutely worth the trip out to Put-in-Bay. Great history, well-kept, very informative staff, learned a lot about the battle and its importance. Views from the top of the monument are fantastic - and for those wondering, there is an elevator that takes you 90% of the way... More

Between the monument and the history museum, you will get a great history lesson. In the museum take time to watch both films and learn about the battle of the lake in 1812. Then go up to the top of the memorial and look out and vision the battle. Great lesson in Ohio history.

the museum is free with a very informative video of a not well known, but very important battle in the war of 1812. Very nice displays. The tower offers spectacular views of the island and lake
