About
Theres plenty to see at South Bass Island, such as the Marblehead Lighthouse, the Cedar Point Amusement Park, and the William Perry Monument, and its fishing opportunities cant be beat, especially if you're fishing for Walleye and Perch.

Plenty of Visitors...need workers!
Jul 2021
I know COVID had to hit them hard, but a lot of places closed down and service in the bars/hotel/shops were not very good. T&J's Smokehouse isnt open and for sale if you got 3+ Million and $$ and time to fix it up. Dont get me wrong, our group had a blast, but if you were there pre-COVID, I am told it still working its way back. Just need people willing to work!

Horrible shirt shack next to Misty Bay Boutique
Jul 2021
Do NOT buy from the t-shirt shop between TJ smokehouse and Misty Bay boutique. Place doesn’t have signage (might be the shirt shack). Employee was completely rude and called me a ignorant m** f*** when I tried to verify the price of a flimsy tank top (came up on the register as 30.00 sweatpants). The customer behind me was appalled and put their items back and walked out. The island has many reputable places and bend over backwards for tourists but not his place. Not worth your time or money.

Not At All What We Expected
Jul 2021
We were really looking forward to this trip but were very disappointed. We went during the week to avoid the drunk parties. The problem is that many of the business's are still not open (due to Covid and labor shortages) but no one tells you this until you get there. The business's that are open are open very odd hours. We always got the feeling that no one wants tourists there. The food is awful. Truly awful. The only good place to eat is Goat, Soup Whiskey. Most of the places that sell breakfast are closed during the week. The public "swim beach" is a joke. Looks like it hasn't been maintained in years. Perry's monument is closed. We still had fun cruising on golf carts and taking in the scenery; but it wasn't at all what we thought it would be. Biggest mistake we made was not bringing our car over. Take your car! We will not be back.

Third Time Back - The Good and the Bad
Jun 2021
This was our third time back to the island in 6 years. Many things remained the same - shops, dining, parks - which was awesome. One thing changed, however, and that was the demographic. Younger, more obnoxious individuals seem to have taken over the northern side of the island. Loud, smoking (cigarettes and weed), inconsiderate (stopping carts in the middle of the street to talk to their friends, profanity), no consideration with the individuals driving the carts for pedestrians (almost hit twice in a crosswalk). Not sure if this is just a one off because of the COVID release or if these morons are here to stay. If the latter, I'd definitely recommend another location. Highly disappointed this go around.

Small Bass Island And Put-In-Bay Was Far More Enjoyable Than I Expected!
Sep 2020
Our recent trip (my first) to Small Bass Island, home of Put-In-Bay exceeded my expectations for enjoyment! There were plenty of golf carts and bicycles to rent (we elected to leave our car on the mainland of Ohio), restaurants and pubs in which to eat and drink, shops to look for unique gifts and mementos and places of interest encouraging activities and exploring . It really seemed like the "Key West" of Ohio! It was clean, well designed and welcoming. The individuals in the various service positions (wait staff, hosts, bartenders and cashiers) were all friendly, professional and well-trained. I was also happy to see many families participating in the various attractions there as well.

So much fun!!
Aug 2020
We try to make it to Put-in-Bay every summer! Take Miller's Ferry from Catawba Point, rent a golf cart and spend the day visiting the many shops and eateries in the island. Stop to have a drink at the Round Bar and Mojito Bay and listen to the entertainment.

Fun island fun camping
Sep 2020 • Couples
Fun driving around in a golf cart.Careful renting,
many are missing windshields and are out of alignment. Lots of great restaurants. Beaches are all rocky. Glacial grooves can be seen in the state park camp grounds. World’s largest geode is at Crystal Cave. International Peace Memorial is beautiful.

Fun day!
Jun 2020
If you are going for the day- I highly recommend that you read the review from Wayfairing-Man on November 3, 2018. We did as he suggested and had a great day.
A couple of notes-
1) Millers Ferry is a great way to go. You can buy tickets on line if you are going during a busy time or save the service fee and buy at the dock if things are quieter.
2) Check prices on the golf carts. Between the coupon on the Miller's Ferry website and by calling around, we saved about $20 on a one day rental.
3) There is quite a bit open and the places that are open are doing a decent job keeping things distanced and clean.

You have to experience it to understand
May 2020 • Friends
There’s really nothing else like Put In Bay. The island is a lot of different things to a lot of different audiences. The partying and the bars take center stage, but nature lovers, history buffs, geology fans, artists, campers, tourists and more can enjoy this one-of-kind Island. Kelley’s Island is the girl you take home to meet your parents. Reserved and demure. PIB is like rough one night stand. You’ll wake in the morning hungover, broke and a little bit guilty but, man you had FUN!
