Theres plenty to see at South Bass Island, such as the Marblehead Lighthouse, the Cedar Point Amusement Park, and the William Perry Monument, and its fishing opportunities cant be beat, especially if you're fishing for Walleye and Perch.

Having an adult playground in your back yard cant be easy, but the residence of the island seem to take everything in stride and with no small amount of grace, turning everything into a part of the island charm decorating houses to reflect the island vibe.

Gorgeous and quiet this time of year, easily accessible by ferry, easy to navigate entire island with rented golf cart.

Th is was the perfect weekend get-away for the two of us. It was just a 3 hour drive from western Pennsylvania. The island is very quaint, with a a good bit of restaurants and attractions to spend a long weekend. Golf carts are the preferred mode of transportation. We stayed for 3 nights the first weekend in October (Thursday... More

We went out to Put in Bay on the Ferry on a weekday in off season. We visited the Perry Memorial, the Heineman Winery and Crystal Cave and the Lighthouse. It appeared that most of Put in Bay is bars and restaurants.

If you are a mature adult and want a relaxing stay visit this island during the weekdays. It is a more party atmosphere on the weekends. Everyone we encountered was very pleasant and welcoming. We really had a wonderful getaway.

It was a wonderful adventure and I can cross off one more thing from my bucket list, going into Crystal Cave, the largest geode in the world. We explored the island via golf cart but had to cut the visit short due to the rain. I would like to try this trip again, to see the things that we missed.

This is a great place to spend an day or overnight. You can totally relax, driving your golf cart around all day, soaking up sun and breathing fresh air. You can also party like a nut. Or make it a family thing. For such a small island, you can accomplish a lot. Save money by taking Miller Ferry.

My husband and I went to Put-In-Bay just after we dropped our boys off at college! I think our timing was perfect! The crazy days of summer were over though the place was still brimming with activity! Everyone we met, staff and guests alike, were super friendly! The entertainment at the bars and restaurants was awesome! Great food and drink... More

We enjoy going to South Bass, there is always something to do or see as you tour around, things are changing, new homes being built and construction going on. There are beaches open to the public, some bar/hotel pools open to everyone. We enjoy going thru the week instead of the weekends, less crowded and not as much of a... More
