It's a cool experience but definitely not worth all the up-sales and price gouging. $5 for a bag of carrots after already paying to enter is pretty exorbitant. We would have enjoyed doing more but it was not realistic to pay over $60 for additional...More

The safari is basically the same animals (Deer/Alpaca(Llama)/Yaks) for the most part until the end where you see Giraffe and Zebra. Be prepared for your car to possibly suffer minor knocks and scrapes. Take your own carrots, they charge $5/lb. It is overpriced plus when...More

Questions about African Safari Wildlife park in Ohio (5 Replies)
Hello I'm hoping to get a response soon on this! I'm planning on taking my boys to the African Safari Wildlife Park in Port Clinton Ohio tomorrow for the day. I'm wondering a few things. First of all, I'm driving from Warren, MI, and is it worth the drive? With gas prices so high and everything, I'm hoping it will be fun! Are there monkeys in the drive thru part of the zoo? We went to the safari park zoo in Ontario a few years ago on the way to Niagara Falls, and the monkeys climbing on...More

pretty much.... they're all even toed ungulates. a variety of deer species, buffalo, camel, giraff, warthogs... no monkeys. maybe they have zebras? cant remember. you can ride a camel though. i would say they're most active early in the day, when its not so warm. i think there is a picnic area. but if there isn't, there's plenty of places to picnic in the area. not sure how far away warren is, so i cant say if it'll be worth it or not. i hope you have a good time!
