We have heard so much about this train ride how great it was and see all the historic sites.......Well let me tell you what a horrible misinformed rip off. My family came up from to visit and we decided to do this to see the fall foliage. My granddaughter has never been on a train. We were in car 4 George was the volunteer for our car. He had trouble getting the narrative out about what we may see. He made it abundantly clear they were all volunteers. There was very little communication no interaction with the small crowd. Oh yea the sears house area here are yellow house not sure why, or the year but it is significant because they are still in use today. REALLY, Oh well here we are at peninsula ,you can purchase another ticket and shop here for a bit then get on next train and return to rockside. What a waste of time, money, hour out and hour return. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Think twice before you spend your hard earned money on this. Very disappointing.

If you are concerned about activities during Covid, do not do CVSR!!! Stay away! There is little compliance to rules. Bad enough that guests are allowed to take masks off to eat or drink what they’ve brought aboard (an excuse to have mask off as much as they want... while you’re trapped in the train car with them😤). But there were guests that just left their masks off most of the time, once they saw that the staff were not doing to address the issue.😡 I had talked with the staff on our car before we left the station, and asked if the would talk to guests not wearing masks. He said yes, but that guests typically say they were about to get a snack out to eat. UGG! Beyond feeling the ride put my health at risk (no truth in their advertising mask rules)... Fall Flyer is quite a let down. 45 min up to Peninsula, sit for 30 min (can’t get off), then 45 min back. Beautiful scenery YES! That’s what pulled the rating up to 2 stars. But no commentary from staff. No history of the national Park, nothing to supplement what we saw out the windows while we tried not to look at all the faces with no masks and freak out). Caring people with a healthy respect for Covid risk should definitely stay away!!!

We were touring the area and decided to take this train trip through the National Park. It was the first train back from being shutdown from Covid in March, and it was very disappointing. Based on the website info and conversations with a ticket agent prior to purchasing tickets, we were under the impression that the Fall Flyer was going from Akron to Rockside. Instead, we stopped at Peninsula, turned around and headed back to Akron. The volunteer train person onboard said that pre-Covid, the train did, in fact, run the full length, Akron to Rockside. There was no narration on the train. We were instructed to use the train tracker app, but it did not work, despite reloading the app several times. We were charged a $4.50 service charge per ticket on each $15 ticket. Bottomline, if your looking to take this trip, wait until everything gets back to a normal non-Covid schedule. Otherwise you're wasting your time and money.

Dinner on the train was a birthday gift from my husband. The food was delicious, and the staff was gracious. I can't wait to go again.

This trip was a Christmas gift from our son, something we probably would not have thought to purchase or for that matter know about. We will certainly do it again! It was such a nice evening and the staff, food, ales, and other passengers made pleasant memories to take with us. Next year it may be a group trip with other friends. Take advantage of this unique getaway.
