The Lake Metroparks Greenway Corridor is a paved bike path on a former railroad track. The path is very smooth because it is a former rail line. If you want to rollerblade I recommend starting at route 84 and heading south to Girdled Road. It is 5K between RT 84 and Girdled Road and net uphill pretty significantly. There are some steep hills so only experienced rollerbladers should try as you come down some hills and have to stop to cross the road. The return trip to route 84 from Girdled road is much easier as it downhill. I have also walked this in the fall and it is a nice walk with the leaves changing.

This multi-use trail gets lots of use. It's all paved and in good condition. It's not very long yet, but there are plans to make it so. A round trip is about 14 mi.
There are things to see along the way like waterfalls and an historic school house. There are outhouse like facilities. Even water for dogs!

Needed a place to walk dogs while in town. Lots of trails and inviting fireplaces! Met some local horse riders in the parking lot - great place for to visit!

Nice place to take a hike, dog walk or bike ride. Old railroad right of way, trees and nice scenery on both sides as well as houses in some areas

Well marked mileage areas , parking arras at end and middle. Map with distances listed. For running or biking downhill going south, mostly uphill heading north

The long term plan is to connect the corridor from the beach (Fairport) to Middlefield, but having this section completed maybe 15-20 years ago and well- maintained, the Greenway Corridor is great for walking, walking pets, bicycling, running, etc. Having several parking options along the current stretch with restrooms and tied into a few perks such as Chair Factory Falls, the school house (part of Concord parks), etc. Lake Metroparks has much to offer across the county and this is no exception

We're local to the area and love to bike. We were so delighted when this trail was opened several years ago. If you take the entire trail, you can go from downtown Painesville down to the order of Concord Twp. The trail is well maintained, is flat for the portion that is in the city of Painesville, but does get a bit hilly as you travel south towards Concord.

I really wish they would complete the south end of the trail to connect to the Geauga County trail. If that were completed, it would allow travel all the way to Chardon which would truly be awesome!!!

This 4.8 mile paved trail is a busy place for cycling, walking, jogging and skating. It's nice in that you can find a bite to eat in Painesville, not far from the trail. Stop to visit Chair Factory Falls in Concord Twp. It's a short walk from of the trail. The restored Old Stone School is located in Concord Twp. opposite Chair Factory Falls and at times is open to visitors.

You can bike, hike, amble and ramble on this paved all-purpose trail that runs from the city of Painesville south to the Maple Highlands Trail. You'll pass (or enjoy!) some other great hiking possibilities along the way. Chair Factory Falls (a left turn if you're headed south on the trail after you cross the bridge over I-90) is a nice side-hike, but be forewarned that there's a steep climb down to the falls that seems even steeper going back up! If there's been a good amount of rain, the falls are spectacular, but are well worth the hike on any day. A bit farther down you can take another side-trail to the left to access the Environmental Learning Center which also has a good number of hiking trails. A non-Lake Metroparks facility that is also of interest can be accessed from the Greenway Corridor, the Old Stone Schoolhouse in Concord Township. It is not regularly open, but the outside can be viewed. Located on their property is a Little Free Library as well as garden plots for local residents. Restrooms are located at various points along the Greenway, some portable and others permanent. If you are hiking south, you'll be doing a gentle climb most of the way on this former railroad bed.

Whether biking, walking, or running the greenway trail is great. Make sure to stop by Chair Factory Falls on the way down the trail. Paved and slightly hilly.
