Loved the place! Oberlin has the mix of things to do, good food, places to hang out, stellar art museum, movies you would want to see at the theater, too.The mixed age group of bikers that was circling around made me want to drop everything...More

Oberlin College is a walkable campus with some interesting architecture. The Conservatory of Music and King Building were designed by the architect of the original World Trade Center and you can see the similarities. The Frank Lloyd Wright Weltzheimer/Johnson House and Allen Art Museum are...More

This might just be the most quaint college campus I have ever visited, and I have visited a ton. The architecture is amazing. From traditional sandstone structures from the late 1800s to mid century modern it's all fabulous.

If you are looking for a great highly selective liberal arts college, beautiful campus and a town that is FULLY integrated into the campus....look no further. One of the best college communities we have visited. Ranks right up there with Northampton.

The Oberlin Inn is the only hotel in Oberlin although there are a couple B&Bs. The Oberlin Inn should be within walking distance of any campus site. There are a couple motels in nearby North Ridgeville. tripadvisor.com/Hotels-g50778-North_Ridgevil… The La Quinta in North Olmsted or the Hilton Garden Inn Airport also would be relatively close, less than half an hour away. tripadvisor.com/Hotels-g50777-North_Olmsted_… tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g50207-d224427-…

Going out to visit my son at Oberlin College - looking for dining options other than the restaurants right in town; doesn't need to be fancy but would like it to be a little special. Thanks for any suggestions.

Well, it's definitely nothing special but seeing you're from NYC, perhaps you'd like to take in Donna's Diner on Middle Ave in Elyria which was just featured in a series in the New York Times. I'll try to think of some more & come back later.

PART ONE It had been over two years since we’d flown (to BOS), but the airport routine was relatively stress-free…once we resolved some confusion about my boarding pass. Our flight, departing from CLE about 9:10 a.m., was full, including at least a dozen Oberlin College students returning to the SF area for their week-long fall break. The petite young woman next to me had been curled toward the window, fast asleep, when my husband Allen and I reached our seats and didn’t awake until the...More
