We visited MGM Northfield for a concert, against my better judgement. This concert reinforced my opinion that this is the worst place to see a concert. You must stay at your seat, no standing in the aisles, and it's frowned upon to stand at your seat (cuz you block others' view). So if, like me, you love to dance & boogie, this is not the place. It's a shame that so many bands that I'd love to see play here & not another venue. A suggestion - make an area for standing room, so those of us who want to dance can! You would get a lot more business & happy customers!

Attended the Marshall Tucker Band performance at the Center Stage venue at MGM. On arrival we were encouraged, no hassle from their Security, helpful ticket checkers and ushers. It is a fairly small theater with mostly floor seating and maybe 20 rows of bleacher style seating at the rear. Restrooms were clean and easily accessible as was the bar area. Drink prices a bit steep but that seems to be common these days. The issue with this venue is the acoustics, song lyrics were unintelligible and the instruments seemed to just jumble in a cacophony. I partly blame the sound guys, but also blame the venue. It could use some sound baffles along the ceiling and the side walls, this would keep the music from just roiling around the room. I have seen this acoustic issue in other reviews, makes me wonder why MGM management hasn’t hired a sound engineer to help them figure this out. I’m not a sound engineer but I’d be willing to bet that for about $30k I could vastly improve how patrons would hear in that room.

Went to Center stage to see Southside Johnny. The venue is small enough that all the seats are reasonable. Appreciated they have two large screen set up on either side of the stage so that you also have a great view. Most of the seats are on the floor, the ones in the back are each slightly raised above the other as stadium style seating. The seats are individual padded folding chairs which are better than non-padded. There was a bar within the lobby area which was convenient. The acoustics were fine, saw multiple security members roaming the floor although this was not a group of older people who were not going to be making trouble. The casino itself was a letdown with only slots, none of which appear to pay very often. we did not try the restaurants, did appreciate the self serve soda fountains. I would go back for a concert But not to gamble.

As I was approaching the casino today I dropped my purse outside and $300 in $20 bills fell out and into the wind. I was able to gather $200. As I entered the casino I was greeted by your security person, Christine Underwood, and I shared my tale of woe with her. About a half an hour later she found me and told me that security was searching outside and they were able to return with $60. I was completely dumbfounded that Christine went well beyond the scope of her job. I truly want to thank both Christine and your security manager, Jared Bzook, for treating me to a very positive experience today.

This casino is just overall bad. Ever since it switched to MGM. Food is bad, service, slot machines....Went on Monday 8/15/22 around 5pm. The older security lady at the north entrance was EXTREMELY rude and unprofessional over my expired license (I’m 30 and had left my passport at home). I was with my mom so I told her to go in for a bit and I’d wait in the car. We live next door and go all the time so it wasn’t a huge deal. She then stops to ask me if I was “actually” going to my car. I said, yes? confused at first but then she gets on her radio in front of everyone coming in to give them a description of what I was wearing and what I looked like as if I was some criminal. I’ve never had an experience like that. Needless to say we won’t be back. The Jack isn’t far and well worth the extra drive if you live near this one!

For this place to represent the MGM family, it’s the worst casino of them all. I’m a avid gambler and have played in all MGM Casinos, Mississippi, Springfield, Las Vegas, Washington, DC, Atlantic City, but Northfield Ohio has been the most horrible of them all. The payout percentage is extremely low, so if your just looking to play small and just invest chump change you can have fun. The casino does not support the high roller. High Rollers and Max bettors take your money to Las Vegas.

Casino is nice looking, has 2200 slots but VERY TIGHT! I don't mind if I lose a little, thats all part of the experience, but it's absolutely no fun at all when you play and play and never even hit once in 10 or 15 spins. Normally you just move on to the next slot, but here it's the same thing over and over. you just dump money in and rarely get even a small payout. For God's sake, loosen them up a little! I go to many casinos (this was a trip from Michigan to Atlantic City through Ohio, Pernnsylvainia, Delaware, Maryland and Indiana, 31 casinos) and this was about the tightest of them all. If I ever go again (my 4th time the past few years driving to A.C., I'll pass on this or if I stop, it will just be to see if they are still this tight.

I am a frequent player at MGM Northfield and am amazed that people think they are playing a slot machine and think the machines are playing and paying randomly, this is of course not true with VLT's. Some employees will tell you the machines play randomly as has been told to me and of course I know better as a VLT player for many years.
The VLT is what it is , A VIDEO LOTTERY TERMINAL, you don't have to scratch off the spots that tell you if it is a winner or not.
As some of you may know the Lottery keeps 50% of all the money wagered and the retailer is awarded 2% of all sales, this gives you a 48% return on your bet, not too bad huh. Now if you are playing my machine and betting $2.00 a spin and I give you 10 free spins I just paid you $20.00, guess what ! that comes off the 48% and into my pocket because I own the machine, just like Dave and Busters every game cost money and that's how they make their money. Why do you think they push free games all the time and want you to use your card, simple they paid you in free games and they have an account of it and that comes out of the 48%.
So wonder why money pay outs are bad, add up your free games, of course some people get lucky and get jackpots with hand pays but not too often.
MGM has maximized it's profit by cutting staff, food quality and low payouts, they didn't buy the Rocksino for fun.
They will tell you that their pay out is the same as other Racinos, sure if you count the free games they give you and I am sure the the freebies are discounted from the 48% also, Corporations don't give things away for free or from the goodness of their heart.
Use your card ? they know where you are every moment and who you are, Can they control the machines ? it's their machine.
This comment may not be posted as to it's content, but I may add the staff that is there is mostly friendly.

I went here on a Sunday night to see Cheap Trick. The MainStage place is not very big which makes it a good spot to see a band. Loved the concert. Easy to see and hear. Perfect

My mom and I are going to Northfield for the first time, this Friday, for a show. We want to use valet and wondered how much it costs, if anyone knows. Thanks!
