Checked in to the Punderson State Park Campground with a friend for a two-night, mid-week stay after all the kiddos were back in school. It was heavenly and quiet and a bargain with my Golden Buckeye card (half price camping Mon-Thurs). Ohio residents qualify for...More

The staff was untrained and the food was horrible. I asked the bar tender if the rose wine was dry and he told me yes. It was as sweet as cool aid! I ordered a pork chop and it was as hard as a hockey...More

We are currently staying at Punderson and didn’t want to wait to review the park. I have no negative.... Sites 17, 18, which are full hookups are absolutely gorgeous- lake views and private across from bathrooms and laundry- it does make a difference. (We are...More

This park features a large lake, with boats, canoes & kayaks available to reasonably rent by the hour. It is all in such a beautiful setting.

Spent an afternoon in this beautiful park. Seemed like there were so many activities and sights here that you'd need several days to see/do it all. Enjoyed seeing the lake and the trails - all first class!

Nice park. Clean bathrooms which is always important to me. During the day was quiet but after dark we had some noisy neighbors. Most lots are nice but we drove by a few where we wouldn't even be able to fit a tent. Our lot...More

We went to Punderson as part of an extended family camping trip and had a very memorable weekend. We noted some disparities between campsites. Some sites are private (e.g., Hill Tent Sites); some are scenic (sites 156-201); while others are shoehorned under a water tower...More

It's been twenty years since I've stayed at this park and, while it was always a great time in the past, I was pleasantly surprised to see and experience the charm of the past but with updated comforts at the cabins. The peace and serenity...More

We have camped here quite a few times over the last several years. It's far from our favorite state park in the area, but it's always a pleasant few days. Campsites range from spacious, level, and shaded, with lots of privacy, to little more than...More

Close and Walkable. You would not need a car to go from a cabin to the lodge. Only the pool separates the front of the lodge from the closest, first couple cabins. The entire cabin complex is not spread out, so even the... More

As far as I know there is no fee and never when we took our kids years ago. Bring your sled and I don't believe there are tubes.

Can't find forum for Punderson State Park / Newbury / Geauga (3 Replies)
Planning a trip to Punderson State Park. All of the posts in the forums are rather old, and I can't seem to find the most applicable forum. Maybe one needs to be created? Or you have a tip to share? I'm looking for activities in mid to late August in particular. Thanks so much!

Skip the Forum - go straight to Punderson State Park in your browser. This will bring up the DNR website with phone and addresses. Looks like a neat place.
