Stayed a weekend here in August. Our site (#11) was more secluded than many though slanted when off the pad. We enjoyed our stay very much with FHU at our site. The small nearby lake is newly stocked. Hubby fished for a few hours and...More
There is water in the lakes again and they've stocked it with fish as well. Still a bit rough around the edges from all the recent work but should be beautiful again by next spring. I was sort of worried as we always loved the...More
Smallish campground (60 sites on two loops) but not too loud. Some sites more secluded than others but relatively quiet camping overall. Most sites are on the small side and all are back-in, so keep that in mind. We saw a number of fifth-wheels that...More
The volunteers here are exceptional..Whenever there is a special weekend like peddlars in the park coming up in August...these volunteers make you feel included. Their breakfasts are great...There is an 18 hole public golf course across the street from entrance. The lake is currently under...More

Yes although I can't say we've seen them out and about all that much. I have seen a ranger come out and tell folks to tone it down if they're getting too rowdy on a few occasions when we've camped overnight even though we weren't bothered and had not complained. We were kind of enjoying sitting around the fire watching the show. ha! I think they must have a house right there so they can keep an eye on things at all hours.
The sites you are referring to are in the electric only area of the park. I cannot say7 for sure about the tent friendliness, however this area of the campground is in a pretty pine forested area. Not a bad walk to the new... More
