Mentor Lagoons is my favorite nature getaway when visiting my hometown of Mentor, Oh. They say, as a kid, you don't know what you have until you're an adult...how true that is when it comes to Mentor Lagoons. It has everything, plenty of beach shoreline, bird watching, boat launches if you want to drop your boat in or rent a... More

I like this park because you don't know what wildlife you might see.... Migratory birds or a bald eagle! I make sure to plan for a nice hike in the woods. You can get to the beach from the trails. It can get muddy so plan accordingly!

The Park service took us on a guided kayak tour (we supplied the horsepower) through the lagoons and right into Lake Erie. Beautiful scenery and lots of water fowl. The hiking trails go pretty deep into the woods and you will come across deer and wildlife. The bike trail is especially fun as once you get to the top, you've... More

My husband and I have walked the trails and I have biked on the gravel trail. Love the sound of the lake and wind. Not crowded. There is Kayaking (renttal) on the marsh waterway to the lake.

The Lagoons is one of my favorite parks. It is along the Lake Erie Shore, offers golf carts for handicapped accessibility, and has beautiful trails land paths.

So the cleveland museum took this over and decided to spray the whole 1 section of the marsh with helicopter full of pesticide killer to kill all the fragmities that took over. They also brought in a machine to crush and kill everything in its path. I guess it's an okay place if you want to see dead flat smashed... More

Enjoyed this summer's Kayaking here! Only $10 per hour and includes paddles & required life jacket. It was my first time ever kayaking and it was great at Mentor Lagoons because it wasn't real busy, the employees were very helpful and the sights are beautiful! We would go to the "waterfall" and turn around-just an hours time. We, also, ventured... More

We decided to check out this park after hearing about how nice and quiet it was. We took the Shoreline Trail, about a mile long. It was very cool on a hot afternoon, with nice shady areas, some benches to sit and views of the lake. A nice getaway for a couple of hours. The other trail we took was... More

We take the boat out and catch Largemouth in and around the docks. There are bowfin, carp, crappie and gar in the spring. My son recently caught a 35" pike up in the shallows. Just outside the Chanel there are smallmouth, perch and walleye.
