Good metropark with trails and other outdoor pursuits you would expect of a metropark. They have historical canals and ties to the battle of fallen timbers. see Fallen Timbers National Battlefield Park.

Following the flood of last year the park paved a new trail that now connects this park to the Fallen Timbers park. So walking, running or biking you can go from Fort Meigs to Side Cut to Fallen Timbers without having to be on the road. Lovely place to visit with historical, nautical locks and plenty of nature. Easy to navigate though it might be difficult for those with ambulatory issues.

Where it is located, just east of Grand Rapids, the Maumee River used to be a well traveled commercial boat trading, river, and used a series of about 4-6 of these locks that ran along side the river, to maneuver past rapids. Traveling past this... More

This is a well maintained and beautiful park along the Maumee river. Great walking paths. Even have bike repair stations for you to pump up a low tire if needed.
