I stopped here with a 2-year old while driving from DC to Chicago. My toddler LOVED this park which has hills to run up, stairs to climb, rivers and streams to look at, rocks to walk on, and birds to point at. I appreciated that much of it was covered by shade, and what they have done with the old canal locks is simply gorgeous. If you're taking I-90 across the country and need a place to relax and see some nature, I highly recommend Side Cut Metropark.

Lived here for 24yrs of life and never really explored this park until a visit home. Locals should NOT waste years missing out on this gem. The history and the views are local treasures not to be ignored. Get outside and adventure at this park.

We loved this park until we looked at our dog and she had about 30 tricks on her ( and we treat her). It was so bad we said something to the ranger and he said he knew they were that bad! We ended up shaving her to find about 10 more ticks! Thank goodness it was before they got in her skin! We will never be back!! If they knew they were that bad they should have put up signs ! Great place for adults keep pets at home!

Sidecut Metropark is one of my family's favorite parks to visit. The park is located right on the Maumee River, so our favorite time to visit is in July. In July, typically the river bed across from the Fallen Timbers Trail is exposed and you can find yourself standing in the middle of the river on the dry beds! It is so much fun to do. I take nature photos, so the dry beds of the river give me so many opportunities to get photos of hawks, ducks, herons, egrets, deer and sometimes bald eagles and great horned owls! You can also circle around Siegert Lake and stop at the wildlife observation area, which overlooks the lake. The same Trail will also take you past the historic Riverside Cemetary and Silver Lake. There is also a window on wildlife that is situated on the Canal Locks Trail. From that trail you can see 4 of the canal locks! The Riverview Trail takes you to a children's playground, picnic areas and in the summer, it can get you walking access to Blue Grass Island and the Maumee River Rapids when the river is dried up in that spot. You can also follow that path all the way up to the Maumee-Perrysburg bridge, where you have the opportunity to look across the river to Fort Meigs. The Wabash-Cannonball Trail is now connected to Sidecut and it can take you to the Battle of Fallen Timbers Monument and then across Route 24 to the actual Fallen Timbers Battlefield. There are so many incredible opportunities at this metropark! It is definitely worth the time to visit and bring your good walking shoes!

Located on River Rd. in Maumee, Ohio. Side Cut Park is cut in half by River Road. There is the side that is by the Maumee River. That side has a playground and a walking trail by the river. The other side has the locks that once were used by ships when this area of the country was first being settled. There is also a sledding hill on the lock side if you want to visit in the winter. I like going to the park with my family to walk on the trails. There is no charge to enter. Plenty of parking on both sides. The river side does get a bit crowded in the summer, because people come here to fish.

Nice to take a stop by the park for a quick walk, or longer along the Maumee River. It is peaceful, yet there is a playground and picnic areas for all.

We walked around this park for a while. There is a huge river running through it and ice was everywhere. We saw lots of wildlife and old gates where they used to raise boats on the river. The place is beautiful and great paths.

Love this park. Its very clean and safe feeling with very pretty and scenic areas and walking trails. The park is nice for the kids and the trail follows along the river making it nice. Be careful when it rains though, some of the trails flood rather easily. My husband Proposed to me here!

Went to this park for a walk. There are some mice trails. I especially enjoyed the one that goes right along the river. Very relaxing! There are also some benches to sit and rest and enjoy being out in nature. Great place for bike rides or walking.
