We are always looking for Indian mounds. This is very unique - a burial mound in a cemetery in Marietta. Many historical figures are buried in the cemetery. Th mound is in the middle with steps to the top.

Stairs to the top and yes, you can climb them. But don't try to climb the hill, or it's a $50 fine!!!

The founders of Marietta preserved the Great Mound from destruction by establishing the city cemetery around it on 1801. The cemetery has the highest number of burials of American Revolutionary War officers in the country.

A very interesting part of the history of the city. If you are able, be sure to take the steps to the top of the mound.

This cemetery was 1 of 2 reasons we came to Marietta. This site did not disappoint when it came to history. I highly recommend a visit ~ of any length. As well as a climb to the top of the mound.

Not a lot to see here, but worth a quick stop. Just a few blocks from the Campus Martius Museum. I usually only spend about 1/2 hour or less here.

This is the coolest place! It's one of Ohio's oldest cemeteries. There is an Indian mound in the middle, with revolutionary and settlers graves around it.
