I heard they did extensive renovations on this church so decided to stop by. Just breathtaking. No matter what your religion, this is a beautiful place to see.

WE happened to go in after a bus tour and while we were inside they shut off all the lights! So I am unsure whether they truly appreciate single visitors. The church is splendid and the windows unbelievable. We enjoyed it, took 15-20 minutes to...More

Great exterior and fabulous interior. This Church is a must see if you are interested in sculpture and stained glass architecture. This is a mini Basilica, so it is not large.

What lovely stained glass windows and religious art. We meet the resident priest who shared the story behind the renovation of the Basilica.

I thought that any religious facility named (by Tripadvisor) "The Basilica of Saint Mary of the Ass" had to be amazing. Well, it was, kind of, but not in the way I had imagined. Wrong assumption.

My husband and I are church and cemetary junkies! In a good way. Every town we visit we find an old church and cemetary. I only wish we would of been there to attend mass. It is worth a walk through the doors, a lighting...More

I recently visited the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis and was awed. However, I believe this Catholic Church is prettier! I'm so glad I make the time to visit this beautiful and historic Basilica.

Beautiful church that I grew up going to. Moved away for a while and now belong to a different parish, but it's always a great pleasure to return. The atmosphere is one of solemnity and grace. Beautiful statuary and interesting sermons given by parish priests....More

Wow, a Basilica in a smaller town and quite a classic church. There was chanting for at least half an hour prior to Saturday mass.I like to compare congregational dress across the country as well as slight variations in mass procedures.
