Great 30 minute walk outsides
Aug 2021
There is a lot of different places to enter the bike trail, and we went the route through the grassy area which turned out to be about a 30 minute walk through mostly wooded areas. Easy paths, walking through some open areas while some shaded/tree areas, and a few places to sit down. Overall, a nice place to walk and enjoyed being outside.

On the trail again
Jun 2021
This is an old railroad bed which means long straight stretches and gradual curves - which means its not conducive for running or walking - but biking is the way to go. I had ridden the length of the trail some years ago and was glad to ride it again. some areas have "root heave" which causes unexpected bumps at speed. Lots of road crossings to slow down and be careful at. Most of the trail does not go through the scenic parts of towns, but along the fringes (aka railroad). Overall i'm glad ot see its being used by lots of people: singles, families, etc.Several bridges are nice and a lot of it is shaded.

Maybe the best trail I have been on
Aug 2018 • Friends
Having purchased a trike this year I was determined to use it, use it, use it. My friend and I have biked on many trails and this one may be the best one yet.
Its strong suit is that it goes through some towns unlike many Rails To Trails which are out in the boonies.
We started in Butler, hopped on the trail, and rode to the park in Mansfield ( which has had some hard times recently apparently)
We passed a car dealership in Butler, a small shopping area in Bellville?, a manufacturing plant further along, and finally the city park in Mansfield. We were close to a highway (but not on it as in some trails) and passed some interesting commercial places as well.
After returning to Butler it was obvious that we had traveled many miles ( maybe 26) and were tired.
All in all, a great trail not to be missed and it is going through the occupied parts of town that make this trail so interesting.

Excellent place to run safely with a view!
Aug 2018 • Solo
Such a great place to run (or bike) with an amazing view. I have com across all sorts of wildlife while on the bike trail over the years (deer, rabbits, chipmunks, geese, you name it!) If you get creeped out running by wooded areas by yourself I would recommend taking a friend and avoiding nightfall time but I have always felt very safe and loved to get away from all of the hustle and bustle and become one with nature while running!

One of the best places in Mansfield
Oct 2017 • Couples
The bike trail is open year round for biker, hikers, roller skaters. There are some rest areas on the trail and several parking areas to enter the trail. It runs from North Park in Mansfield to Butler. A great way to spend the day and get some fresh air.

A Great Way To Exercise
Aug 2017 • Friends
The bike trail is a great way to walk, run or bike your way to a more healthy life style. When it was proposed years ago the normal naysayers wrote to the newspaper about what a waste of money. I contend that is may be the best use of taxpayer funds in the county history. Enjoy the great outdoors.

So much fun!
May 2017 • Couples
We started biking this trail last year and it is one of our favorite things to do. We get on the trail at Lexington and bike to either Bellville (for a round trip of about 11 miles) or Butler (for a round trip of about 23 miles). Lots of great shops in Bellville and some in Butler. A great little diner in Bellville (something like V&M Family Diner right in the middle of town) or in Butler at the Whifletree Diner. Awesome day out!

Great Place to Rollerblade!
Jul 2016 • Friends
In college I loved to go rollerblading here. It's also good for a bike ride, walk, or jog. Sometimes it can get crowded, and other times is more tranquil. There's a pond along the trail that is nice, and lots of trees. I believe the entire trail is 26 miles long. I also think it was an old railroad line made into a bike trail. I've seen people walking their dogs, and it is kid friendly.

Beautiful and peaceful
May 2017 • Couples
I've been going to this trail for many many years. It is beautiful, peaceful, well-maintained, safe and easy to navigate. Makes for a great day of exercise and the length is long enough to suit pretty much anybody's ambitions for a day.
