This is the second time we've visited the Bird Sanctuary - there is a small entry fee, but lots of emphasis on donating. While the center has a display of several birds recouping or permanently injured, it has about 2 miles of trails that are great. We didn't see birds on the trails, but since the center is in the boonies, the trails were quite and away from traffic. Highly Recommended.

I did not know that so many nice places in Mansfield, OH existed! My visit to the Ohio Bird Sanctuary was a great experience! I loved reading and learning about the birds there. I feel good knowing that the workers here put so much effort into taking care of these birds. Unfortunately, I arrived here a little later and did not have time for the nature trails - maybe next visit!

We did a private tour with a meeting with a beautiful Redtail Hawk. The staff that we were with were very knowledgeable about the birds on site. It is amazing to see the birds up close and see the details of their size, coloring, talons. The area is well taken care of was worth the visit. We did not go until 2pm and that did not leave us enough time to walk the nature paths.

We decided to visit the sanctuary on a Saturday morning during our trip to Mansfield and were happy we did.

It is a very well kept place with an amazing caring attitude towards these birds who are unable to survive in the wild. They have several hiking trails and an educational center for groups. Every bird in the sanctuary has a story which is also very cool albeit sad.

You can spend time in the aviary and feed the birds in there for only $.25 cents a cup of seeds and mealy worms. We enjoyed that part of the visit a great deal.

We had a wonderful time at the Ohio Bird Sanctuary. My wife and I brought our 2 teenagers and they loved it. We attended the presentation and learned about one of the resident owls. We walked through the bird displays, fed the birds in the aviary and walked one of the hiking trails. Picnic tables are available on the grounds. A couple things to keep in mind when visiting-the gates close at 4, so time everything right. Admission to the bird areas is 3 dollars/adult and 1 dollar/child, plus a quarter per cup to feed the birds in the aviary.

Just was on a drive in the area and decided to check this out to see if it would be somewhere we could take our grandson and family. A thumbs up !!! Had great hiking paths where you might be able to see some great sightings of birds. They had a nice display of birds they were caring for. Picnic area was available too. Can't wait to go back on a day we can do some hiking ! They are also making some improvements on the hiking path.

Saving birds and others who can not go back o nature and survive. Not a large venue but sign in desk had a wonderful women who shared how the sanctuary started. The price is only $3 for adults and you can stay as long as you like. We hiked for an hour
after we visited with the flying animals. WE also packed our lunch and sat a picnic table and took our time. Staff here really nice and they have a passion for this place.
Parking free and easy to enter and exit. We also bought the bird food-and a bird landed on my friends arm and stay for about a minute.

The grounds are gorgeous and we loved the information on each bird that they have. I won't go into detail about what they are all about. Just go. They have lots of trails which we didn't explore because it was too hot. But I would love to go back in the fall again and check out the trails and the rest of the property as well as visit the birds of course.

This is less about being a touristy place as it is an educational organization that rescues birds. Great children's programs and community education. I love the hiking trails. They do get muddy and I avoid hiking there when it rains. They rehabilitate and return birds to the wild if possible. Definitely an organization worth visiting and supporting.

It is not the ideal time for hiking, and the virus has shut the place down. But trails are open. All under a mile each but can intertwine and make for a nice walk.
