    Interesting, low key activity
Low key activity to help fill your day. We spent about 2 hours there. You are greeted upon entering the home and a staff member gives you a history lesson on how the castle came to be and answered any questions. You tour on your own and admission is $5 per person.

    Well worth the visit
Loveland Castle (recommended by Trip Advisor) was something to behold. Not expecting much, we wanted a day-trip activity and came across this page. Good thing we did, because it was fascinating. The groundskeeper was friendly and directed us around the structure. We went inside and encountered one of the knights (not in actual armor, just a friendly Cincinnati area-native), "Little Dave" who explained the entire history of the builder and castle. He told us most everything about it and seemed to really care about it. He answered all our questions and gave us lots of elaboration and explanation. The little artifacts were cool, and the pictures were nice. The swords and armor are both also captivating. Needless to say, the most fascinating aspect about Loveland Castle is its mere existence. A 10th century Norman-architecture castle is something you won't find anywhere else in the United States! Although it is fairly small, it is something to behold. Definitely make sure to strike up a conversation with "Little Dave!"

    Interesting gem
Traveled here by kayak from a Little Miami rental adventure (Loveland Canoe & Kayak). Was a perfect spot to picnic about 3/4 the way through the trip. Was a fun unexpected adventure. The free picnic area is worth the stop alone, but the $5pp entry was worth touring this interesting site and learning about the builder and the "knights". Overall, it's an odd fascinating place. Good for kids I bet, for an hour or so. Enjoy.

I am beyond livid at the Loveland Castle!! Our Cub Scout Pack had an overnight scheduled for tonight with a confirmation email and a contract.
My 4 year old was beyond excited to tag along with his older brother’s pack and to be able to play and sleep in a real castle tonight. He’s been talking about it for days.
We get there to find out they are filming a movie. The supposed owner came down and was EXTREMELY rude and nasty telling me I’m mistaken and went as far as to tell me I am trespassing and he would have me arrested if I did not leave the property immediately.
I get mistakes happen so some kindness and an apology would have gone a long way in this situation but instead I get met with total nastiness!
We had originally paid for 2 overnights then the Covid shutdown hit and we were forced to cancel and this was our re-book from that. We lost a lot of kids in our pack to Covid and were only going to use the one overnight and had planned to donate the other $200 fee to the castle but after that interaction, we will be demanding our entire $400 back!
If that wasn’t bad enough, I then had to listen had to my 4 year old ball his eyes out the entire 45 minute drive home!
I feel like the original owner is turning in his grave knowing this is how a fellow scout was treated at his castle!

They place looks much better on the website. If your close it’s ok but don’t make a trip for this. It’s ok but not much other than dusty old rooms inside. Having been built over the last 80 years it has a fridge toilet and electric so it’s not exactly nostalgic. The video giving some of the background was the best part.

I very much enjoy unique tourist attractions. This may have been one of the most boring I've been to. I initially did not think $5 was too expensive, but it's not even close to worth that. You can be done in 10 minutes. My kids could not have been more disinterested. It's small. The things you learn about the builder you can read on line. Save your $5 buy some ice cream in Loveland itself!!

So, some places in the castle are locked mostly places that I would think are storage or that would allow you into an area where they are still working. No one wants to fall through a floor and get hurt. It's on the smaller side, but I managed to spend almost 2 hrs here just looking around and taking pictures inside and out, plus across from the parking area is a river and I walked over to that also. I was afraid that they wouldnt have parking when I got there midday but they did. I thought it was really nice and people inside talked about the man who built this whole thing. It was really cool.

It is a drive off the beaten path and parking is limited. If you have a large vehicle, be forewarned. It is $5 to do the self-guided tour of the property which isn't horrible. I was there about 45 minutes and that included watching a short video. There isn't much to it, but it is neat and has some cool furnishings like swords, suits of armor, etc. The garden wasn't in bloom yet but I am sure that would be a fantastic view.

This was an interesting place, and I got more out of it by watching the three videos about the man who built the castle. The castle isn't too large, and there's several rooms to see. The castle was constructed from rocks from the river and self-made bricks from concrete. It's so unusual - a medieval Norman-style castle in Ohio!

The castle was very interesting, and I found it amazing how it was built. Even though it is only a fraction of a real Castle, there was lots of history to look at and read about. I just wish we had went at a time when the flowers were in bloom. I bet the garden area would have been gorgeous. If you’re in the area and you love castles, then this is a must see. It doesn’t cost very much and you can easily lose track of time.

My wife and I went to a wine tasting event at this Loveland castle- formally called Chateau Laroche- meaning rock castle- north of downtown Loveland, Ohio and enjoyed the event and explored the castle that was constructed over many years by Harry Andrews. There is a video to watch in which Harry discusses the castle, etc. He served in WWI and was motivated to recreate a medieval castle based on those built in Normandy, France. He bought the land in 1927 and started construction in 1929. Harry worked on the castle part time until 1955 when he retired and worked full time on it. It is relatively small but Harry tried to recreate an accurate castle of the by gone era. There were very nice people who gave good information as to the background. Very interesting if you have an interest in the old medieval time period.

Our grandsons ages 5 & 7 had a day off from school so we made a day trip to visit the castle. There is a “look no touch” policy which was made clear by Sir Thomas upon our entering. Both boys were enamored by the sights and artifacts on display. There are three very interesting short videos totaling 20 minutes. We brought a picnic lunch and sat over looking the Little Miami River.

What a beautiful work of art and craftsmanship. To think it was built by hand by one gentleman and some teenagers. They just don’t make dedicated craftsman like they used to as much these days. I enjoyed hearing the story from the man in the gift shop of how the group of church boys were formed as knights and desired a quest of following the Ten Commandments.
