About
Commonly referred to as the "Lebanon Museum" or "Warren County History Center", Harmon Museum is housed in historic Harmon Hall. This three story, 28,000-square-foot, building is home to Warren County related artifacts dating from prehistoric eras to the mid-20th century as well as temporary special exhibits. We have four new art galleries; a contemporary, folk, classic and exhibition gallery where we showcase the work of noted 20th and 21st Century Ohio artists. Our Shaker Gallery offers the second largest collection of Shaker artifacts in the country and our nationally recognized research library houses journals, trustee documents, written music, and agricultural notes as well as historical and genealogical records pertaining to Warren County Ohio. There is also ample free parking outside the museum's new handicap accessible main entrance, located at the rear of the building (accessible from South Street). The museum also has an elevator that runs to all floors.

Great museum with so much history and artifacts, I would give yourself time to explore it all. Great for small children to see what life was like in ohio before technology. Great for History nerds to get a multitude of little known history that shaped the north of Cincinnati area.

´Tis a grand day.

The Warren County Historical Center Museum is Smithsonian Class, and merits several visits a year.

There is abundant parking. The volunteers are first rate, and the creative displays cover a variety of local, state, and national history.

The Warren County Historical Center Museum is truly significant of local pride.

The WCHS is a nice museum with interesting Warren County and Shaker exhibits. It is connected to the old post office which has been renovated into a fabulous rental location. Glendower Mansion is also related to the museum and is only 2 blocks away. When you are done visiting, the Golden Lamb is right down the street for a quiet dinner.

This is probably one of the best Shaker museum exhibits outside of New England. The "western" Shakers in Ohio and Kentucky came along well after the New England were established and since they had fewer numbers, they died out early in the 20th century. The museum has a very nice collection of Shaker items as well as other local artifacts. If you are into Shaker visit the museum and the Golden Lamb restaurant across the street. The Lamb also has a nice collection of Shaker antiques. For the utimate Shaker experience drive about three hours south to the restored Shaker village in Pleasent Hill, KY. Have dinner there and stay the night in one of their historic buildings. It's a great experience!

This is a "must see" location for anyone who lives in, or visits Lebanon. Warren County's History comes alive as you walk through the museum. The Shaker Collection tells the story of a long lost society of people who lived in Warren County. A growing art collection is well worth the a visit and I look forward to watching it expand.

This is a local museum that ranks as one of the best. It is downtown Lebanon with three exciting floors of exhibits. These include local Indians, early artisans, the Underground Railroad. Then a floor of 19th Centuty stores full of artifacts, a tribute to local citizens that participated in several wars. An exhibit of female clothing is set in bedrooms of the 1800's.
Finally, the most important exhibit is the floor dedicated to the Shakers that lived at Union Village. A recent enhancement was to tell the story of the only pottery manufactured by the Socirty of believers. It was uncovered when the road was widened near Union Village. There are also superb pieces of furniture and clothing.
This museum has so much to take in and will appeal to all ages and all academic levels.
To cap the stack, when finished, a wonderful gift shop awaits visitors including a well-stocked book shop.
I hope you all will visit this almost living collection of the past.
A small admission fee is charged.
But it is well worth it!!!!

Have been several times and always enjoy seeing the recreation of local shops of the early 1800's--dentist, clothing, telegraph, doctor, etc. on the first floor . On second floor are bedrooms of the period and clothing, dishes, etc. There is also quite a lot of Indian artifcacts--clothing, arrowheads, etc. Early maps, photos of shops, etc. of Warren County. There are two shops selling books, , dolls, china etc.

This museum is rich in local history, highly recommended for children and adults as well. Beautiful old building in an historical old town with antique shops and of course The Golden Lamb Inn, of which we have stayed many a time. Delicious food!!
