My son loves all things trains and Christmas so we thought this year with him being almost 5 he would really enjoy the North Pole express ride. This year the ride was a bit of a dud. The scenery was boring and there was lots of trash to look at. The first year we went we stopped and could see Santa standing by a festively decorated caboose and when the ride started up again Santa appeared on board the train. This year Santa was one with a fake beard and you could totally tell which was sad for my kiddo. Santa didn't pass out the bells from his reindeer like in years past but an elf did. It felt like Santa could care less to interact with the children. For the steep price we paid for tickets this year, what you got for the money fell short. We didn't even get a train ornament like in the past and we had to buy hot chocolate this year. We left feeling rather deflated and my son was quite disappointed.

This was our first trip to LM&M Railroad. Booking online was very easy. However, the experience of checking in and boarding was very confusing. Need more signs directing guests where to stand to board. The female conductor was excellent playing the role and explaining a few highlights along the trail. The conductor gets five stars out of five. However, the train ride itself lacks luster. You go forward for a little over 4 miles. Once you reach that destination, the train goes in reverse over the same track. The ride was quite boring other than those few highlights pointed out by the conductor.

Misleading! Train stated it was going to a pumpkin patch , but went to a high school instead. It was ok, but not what was what we paid for. We spent about $100 for 4 of us to ride a train to a school which didn’t offer a lot that we normally do at home. I was expecting a pumpkin patch.

11 of us did the Pumpkin Patch Express so this short outing cost us $250. Overall we were disappointed. Our 1 hour stop at Creech’s was cancelled & instead they dropped us off at a tiny, closed off corner of a park. This did not have an hour’s worth of entertainment unless you got food from the taco truck that was parked there. I feel like when you change the itinerary on people, even if it’s not your fault, you ought to provide some sort of refund or compensation. We didn’t want to visit a tiny corner of a random park; we wanted to visit Creech’s, as was advertised when I purchased $250 worth of train tickets. 😡
We were in car 104. The train worker that was stationed in 104 was so serious & not much fun to listen to. Of course, there wasn’t much to listen to since you only travel 2 miles down the train track. 😒
Overall, this was an expensive, disappointing trip. I will not be participating in this ever again. Save your money & go to one of the dozens of good pumpkin patches around the city. It’ll be cheaper & more fun!

We went on the Pizza & Beer Train on 7/10/21 and were very disappointed with our experience. My biggest complaint was that we had paid more money to be in the air conditioned car; however, the air conditioner did not work for the entirety of the ride. As soon as you walked into the car, it felt as if the heater was on. It made the trip very uncomfortable, especially since the windows couldn't open like they could in the other cars. The employees offered $2 White Claws to our car to make up for the heat, but honestly, the last thing I wanted to do was give them more of my money. I really felt like we should have been reimbursed. As far as the other aspects of the trip go, it was underwhelming. There was no narration, the pizza was tiny and cold, and the whole thing was way overpriced. We were both really bummed afterwards since we have been wanting to do this for the last two years, but they had been sold out. What a disappointment!

The seating was entirely too packed and the ride was so painfully slow. I paid for my family of 5 to ride to the pumpkin patch, but it was really just a small patch of grass with a pile of pumpkins, and a few crowded activities for kids to do. Seems asinine that tickets would be sold to such a large body of people when the space for activities is so limited. My husband and I were disappointed by the experience and won't choose to ride this train again.

Paid for deluxe tickets, we got moved to the regular car "so we could sit together" without any refund. Seats facing each other had barely enough leg room for 1 short adult, let alone 2 facing each other. There is no scenery on this ride.A few ...very few....decorations in the car itself and then a dark ride. Also there were two very drunk, very loud, screaming yelling adults on our ride and the staff was not equipped to do anything about their behavior, which pretty much ruined it for everyone else.

We did the Polar Express ride. There were 7 of us so we paid extra for the Deluxe Seats. We chose our seats at the time of our reservation but when we checked in they told us there were no assigned seats. Fortunately we go there really early and were able to sit together.
It was way too hot in our "deluxe" car. The heat was on very high and you couldn't open the windows to cool it down. Everyone was fanning themselves with their tickets to cool off. I am always cold and never complain about being too hot but it was too hot for me as well.
We purchased hot chocolate before boarding the train. It was terrible. It had a very burnt taste. I would have asked for a refund but we had already boarded the train before tasting it.
We went in the evening thinking we would see some nice christmas lights out the window but were disappointed. There wasn't anything exciting to see outside.
I would have given it a 1 rating but the elves and Santa brought the rating up. Santa was very good and took his time with each child. The elf was very good also and made balloon animals for the kids. Her balloons broke quite often when blowing them up which was distracting with the loud pop.

We had such a fun night doing the Sweet Rose’ Wine ride on a Saturday night. The tickets were easy to pick up at the gift shop across from the train boarding. The wine pours were generous (2 included in ticket price) and a lovely snack box with cheese, grapes, chocolates, etc. Very nice portion. The ride is about 30 min one way and 30 minutes back. Fun old school music playing in the car and everyone was having a good time. We will do it again.

The Princess train ride was wonderful! My 5 yr old granddaughter loved having one on one time with 2 Princesses on the train and meeting almost a dozen more after the train ride. The Princesses were engaging and kind; they were in full character from their voices to their conversations. We were able to get many great photos!
Can’t say enough positive things about the experience. Our train liaison made effort to insure we were having a fun time. Each child was given a crown upon boarding the train. Face painting before the ride and balloon animals on the train added to the fun. Restroom can have long line before ride.

We are bringing our granddaughters aged 3 and 4. We'd like to sit and face each other but are not sure which trains offer this. Please advise specifically if possible . Thank you.

Are any of the train routes near the bike path? I am wondering if it is possible to take a bike on the train and ride to a stop and get off and bike back.
Written August 11, 2018
Not sure, it may be best to contact the railroad directly and find your answer that way.

How do you choose cars ? Is there any way to know which one is the open air car, which one has seats that face each other ?
Written March 31, 2016
most of the cars are covered. Unless it is a specific event, you can go to the open car any time you like.
I found it more important to be closer to the front of the train... My son liked to see Thomas the most
