This place was decorated for Christmas and the guides were teriffic. If you need to know how to decorate on a low budget, be sure to visit here. We even got a little history about the place.

For many years we have gone to Glendower Mansion for the Christmas decorations when we eat at the nearby Golden Lamb. This year not only had the admission gone up but we have noticed increasingly that the marvelous "historic type" decorations of the season have given was to gaudy "department store" type decor which really isn't true to the historic house. This year there was a "jungle room" ( no jungles in Ohio ?) a cowboy room ( no cowboys in Ohio) headless dress forms covered with silk flowers all over.?? To point out a few "displays" and a gift shop in the kitchen. We will consider going back to Glendower again but certainly after this year's exhibit not at Christmas.

We have pass to Historical Museum so this was free to us BUT it would have been well worth the $$$ if we would have pd. We had 2 ladies as our tour guides, one did 1st floor and one 2nd and grounds. They both were excellent and answered all our questions. We went on 7/2918 Sun. It was an excellent informative experience! There is a reinactment the end of Sept and the Xmas lights in Dec so we will go back! We aren't from Lebanon but I think it should be a requirement for Jr high/Hi school kids to go and learn the history of this Lebanon community.

We live down the street from Glendower and one of the highlights of Christmas for us in Lebanon is visiting the beautiful mansion when it is decorated for the Christmas. It is not open all hours so check ahead of time.
