Decided to stop by since we don't get out that way often. The tasting room and grounds were nice, as usual. They take reservations which I don't understand why breweries do this. Should be first come, first serve in my opinion. Luckily we got a shady spot since it was very hot out. The pizza we ordered was good. I'd recommend it. When Rockmill first opened, we loved their beer. Easily one of our favorites. I'm not sure if our palettes have changed? We still love Belgian style beers but we didn't think the beers we drank tasted as good as they once did. Again, maybe our palettes have changed over time. Still someplace we will stop by, if in the area, but may not be a destination like it was in the beginning.

The setting here, the buildings, etc. all that was very, VERY nice. The smell coming from their BBQ/smoker area was off the hook great. Inside the brewpub, nice as all get out. Bar staff was nice. The beer here......NO. We had three different ones. Can’t remember all their names, but the highly recommended “Table Beer” that two of us ordered. Wow, bad. They were all bad. Want to like it, but it’s a no (presently)

A Belgian style brewery located in rolling hills outside of Lancaster. On Sundays in the summer, they host live music down by the lake below the taproom. They also have some onsite BBQ for the event, at least until it runs out. Half a dozen house beers on tap and a total of 15 in bottles. Their best beers are there Dubbel and Tripel, particularly the barrel aged. I've been to over 200 breweries and this is the most placid of them all. Find an overstuffed chair in one of the upstairs rooms and s azad for the beer.

I love the set up of this brewery. It’s a little hard to find, but worth looking for. This large farmhouse has been converted into a wonderful brewery. When you first walk in you see a cozy sitting area in front of a fireplace with the bar. The house is full of private, cozy cubbyholes for relaxing with your drink and visiting. The outside patio area is beautifully filled with the smells of smoked meat from Backcountry Barbeque, the on-site food truck. They also allow you to bring food and offer suggestions on their website so check it out for details. The yard is currently under construction, but the beauty still shines through. There is a large pond at the foot of the hill and a quaint little chapel on the edge of the creek. This venue can (normally) be rented for private parties, weddings, etc. but currently it is under construction expanding so I believe they’re not taking reservations at the moment. The surrounding flower beds are beautiful and compliments the rest of the property nicely. I don’t drink beer, but my father and brother say it’s a nice brew. My father doesn’t drink that often and when he does, he’s pretty set in his ways – so for him to say he likes it says more than you’ll ever know until you try this beer. Staff is friendly, helpful, and know their product very well. Very clean and well maintained property. Parking can be an issue right now with construction.

If you want the feel of a California winery but with a central Ohio brewery this is the stop. Beautiful grounds with a lake down from the farmhouse. Great location for a picnic ( bring your own food though occasional food truck). Nice seating areas. Lots of families in the middle of the day. I am not a huge fan of the style of beers (Belgian) but will come back again.

My best friend invited our friends here for me and my husband’s wedding anniversary. We (hubs and I) had never been here but she promised us the pizza truck was amazing and the beer was good. She was right about the beer: I tried a few and they were all great! The pizza was good but definitely not amazing. But if it’s the only food available, and it was, I would get it again. The atmosphere outside is fantastic! Beautiful. Not a lot of seating so come early! But the pond and wooded area is lovely. Inside the place is very pretty as well and more seating options. Somewhat of a sleepy place but was able to relax and enjoy our anniversary gathering. Also, the establishment offered us any paper plates, cutlery and serving knife we could find in the kitchen, for our cake. So that was kind of them. Worth mentioning however, is that there was only one person manning the whole bar and so the line was VERY long! Definitely not a good comment to make but needed to be said. Get some bar help and maybe live music (they may offer this some nights but this was a Saturday night in the middle of summer and they didn’t have anything going on at all) and this will boost the atmosphere and vibe.

I love coming to Rockmill with a small group of friends. You can enjoy their beer and cozy up on a couch in front of the fire or enjoy the weather outside on the patio. They have a rustic farmhouse style building and you will feel like you've transported through time as you venture through the rooms!
They have a lovely property as well! There's an old chapel and pond where they hold events, sometimes they have "Campfire sessions" which is a different amazing review altogether.
They don't have meals but sometimes like small platters of cheese and such. They do encourage bringing food if that is what you wish and they only serve their own beer. But don't let that stop you! Oh they also have food trucks sometimes.

What a great atmosphere and fun way to spend the day with friends. Also a perfect date location. This was our second time visiting rockmill and we love it!
We opted for a flight-you can do 3 or 4
samples. I believe they offer 6 beers on draft to chose from and the rest you would have to purchase a bottle.
Even though they don’t offer food-both times we went they had a food truck or a food vendor there. I also saw lots of people bring their own food.
The bar is small but there is lots of areas to spread out and enjoy once you get your beverages. You can sit in the house, on the patio or on the lawn. People had blankets spread out, and brought picnic baskets. It’s also fun to walk around the property by the lake and down to the chapel.
It’s definitely worth the drive!

Rockmill Brewery is located in a beautiful old barn and they brew very good craft beers. The atmosphere is charming and comfortable and the service was quite good. The only drawback is that it is located 7 miles outside of town, so one needs a car and time to get to this location, but it is worth it.
