This guided tour takes you to all the best places in the Kelleys Island State Parks and Preserves. Starting at the Glacial Grooves explore the unique history of the Island from the Ice Age, and all the way to the Devonian Era. This interesting tour is an active hike and bike through the trails with brief stops to learn and rest. The two hour adventour includes The Alvar Preserve on the North Shore, pebble beach, and also East Quarry State Park.

This is a simple historical site with an information plaque. It was nice to learn a little more about the area. The rock has been blocked off to keep people from wearing it down, they still throw coins on it of course.

if you come to Kelley's island, this is a must see. its free and easy to see. The history is better that the actual petroglyphs are there are getting harder to see. enjoy the slower place, see the glacial grooves too, and enjoy the nature of the island

This site is a testament to the need for a national park service, for the sandstone petroglyphs have been erased through human contact over many years. It is a shame and a reminder of why we need to treasure the social history that we do have.

This site is near the ferry. Would recommend it as the first or last visit on the island. The inscriptions on the rock are difficult to see now, but it is interesting history.

I was saddened by my visit to the petroglyphs...it is a fascinating spot and worth the few minutes it took to stop by and look. Time and the elements have taken their toll... they are there but challenging to see clearly. The dozens of coins people have tossed onto the surface of the rock doesn’t help matters any. 😞
