Kayaking in Old Woman’s Creek was fantastic. The lotus flowers and lilies were in bloom. The water is easy to navigate and and the launch area is easy. We saw eagles, many herons and egrets. You do need to get a permit ahead of time but it comes promptly via email. You must have your own kayak or canoe. We had the opportunity to talk with the ranger who filled us in on highlights to see and how to get there. Definitely a highlight of our trip.…

Great hidden gem which offers a nice trail appropriate for leisure walking or some off the trail hiking as well. Scenic view of creek and Marsh that is home to a variety of wildlife including Great Egrets, Blue Herons, and a variety of other animals. Must do if you're in the area and enjoy the outdoors. …

We recently purchased kayaks and checking out different areas, called before hand to find out if we were Permitted to kayak which we were with filling out the permit and wow, what an experience. We have hiked here before, but to be on the water seeing the blue herons and bald eagles up close was just amazing. We will be back to this little paradise nearby!…

Old Woman Creek SNP is also a National Estuarine Research Reserve. This treasure has hiking trails, a visitor center with helpful volunteers and a Nature Shop. There are many activities for the public to enjoy, such as guided canoe trips in the estuary, guided hikes, and brown bag lunches to name a few. Stop by the visitor center for a full list of events.…
