Nickel Plated Beach is off the beaten path, but well worth the trouble of finding it. The beach is broad and sandy with lots of room for beach fun or just getting a tan. It can get crowded due to all of the little cottages next to the beach, but the water is shallow and good for kids while the... More

Plenty to do and very relaxing. Beach is always clean as are the grounds. Fun place even in the Fall and Winter to watch the birds and fishermen.

Nickel Plate is a nice beach with lots of activity. It's a little dirty in the corner by the break wall so stay to the east side of the beach if you want the best experience. Walking distance to the Sand Bar with yummy lunch and pizza.

My friends and I have visited Nickel Plate beach for several years and it is a great place to go for a day trip with your friends. We have always enjoyed the out-of-the-way atmosphere of the beach, as well as the two beach volleyball nets offered to visitors. Also nearby is a Dairy Queen and the Pied Piper which are... More

This is a nice Lil beach to go and check out. Our visit was in the fall so not many people. It was a beautiful sunny fall day. We stayed for about an hour.

You have to pay 5 dollars to park here. The beach is clean, offers a playground for kids and volleyball courts for all. Go early, lots of people and wear shoes the sand gets really hot.

We stopped by to see the lake. We were there early and only one other person was there. The kids enjoyed the play structure. There were hundreds of gulls on the beach and the water was extremely wavy. A sign says the water is unpredictable. We did not swim, but would recommend some type of shoe for the beach near... More

We have been to this beach when the water is clear and calm and the beach clean. We have also been here when the beach is dirty and the water is less than appealing. The waves are real fun when the water is rough but very dangerous for small children. This beach should put in a spot for an outdoor... More

There was no charge for parking. The waves and the view were very nice. The beach itself was covered with cigarette butts. Too bad people have to foul the environment that way. There were hundreds of gulls and gull excrement. A bit smelly.

I have never been to a fresh water beach. A beach where the water acted like ocean water with a rolling tide. It was clean and cool and great place to swim, great to walk the beach. The people were all locals it seemed, all encountered were friendly. The day was beautiful. It was overcast so the sun was not... More
