We stopped by to see the lake. We were there early and only one other person was there. The kids enjoyed the play structure. There were hundreds of gulls on the beach and the water was extremely wavy. A sign says the water is unpredictable. We did not swim, but would recommend some type of shoe for the beach near... More

We have been to this beach when the water is clear and calm and the beach clean. We have also been here when the beach is dirty and the water is less than appealing. The waves are real fun when the water is rough but very dangerous for small children. This beach should put in a spot for an outdoor... More

There was no charge for parking. The waves and the view were very nice. The beach itself was covered with cigarette butts. Too bad people have to foul the environment that way. There were hundreds of gulls and gull excrement. A bit smelly.

I have never been to a fresh water beach. A beach where the water acted like ocean water with a rolling tide. It was clean and cool and great place to swim, great to walk the beach. The people were all locals it seemed, all encountered were friendly. The day was beautiful. It was overcast so the sun was not... More

We went to several other beaches along the lake before we discovered this one. It is really very nice. Plenty of sand---fairly clean and easily accessible. There is a small playground for the wee ones, too. It costs $5 to park but for a fun day at the beach, I didn't think it was excessive.

We had nice visit. Its $5 to park, cash only. There was alot of trash and we found glass on the beach. I would recommend water shoes. Other than that we had a good time.

We don't come here enough! We find Nickle Plate Beach to be quite enjoyable. There is plenty of room and kids seem to love it. 5 bucks to park which to me is worth it. I don't have an issue with cleanliness. its a clean beach in my opinion.

Spent a few hours here with the family. Not like the Texas beaches I am used to, but fun. Parking is $5. Not busy at all on a weekday afternoon.

The beach was beautiful and clean, A great place for families. There is a play ground for little ones, plenty of parking, and a change house. My only complaint was there were no showers to wash off after swimming. Will definitely go back.

This is a nice beach, with regular amounts of trash left by those who do not clean after themselves. It was not crowded when we went (it was a weekday afternoon) and we sat near the shore. Our boys had a lot of fun and it was peaceful looking out over the water. There are volleyball courts set up, for... More
