The house itself is fairly basic interest but the food at the cafe is wonderful. Very good service with beautiful surroundings. A great place for a chilling family.

When we arrived early on a Sunday afternoon ready to explore the grounds, we found it all closed off. Notice said closed till further notice. You could still walk around certain areas of the parkland.

Visited recently for lunch with my wife for her birthday - just the two of us. Good choices of light lunch, and some vegetarian options. Surroundings a different class to Werribee Mansion, but food prices reflective of that, but quality and service excellent.
When the staff found out it was my wife's birthday they offered complimentary Devonshire tea to us both. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Saw several other tables of small bus trippers from the city, and they all looked to be having a great time.
Would recommend allow an extra hour or so to visit old homestead and walk along the beach area. Take a coat if it's cold or windy. Small fee if you want to go inside old homestead.

We went there for lunch today only to find that it had closed earlier this month. Unfortunately people running it have gone into liquidation. Hopefully someone else will take it over as it has a fabulous outlook and was a great place to visit and experience some of victoria's history.

You decide to visit Point Cooke Homestead. You drive to Point Cooke. You drive through Point Cooke till you turn right on to Point Cooke Homestead Road. You follow the signs for Point Cooke Homestead. After 4 kilometres you reach a closed gate with a sign saying “Homestead closed - Do not enter”.

We met by chance with a Parks Victoria ranger at near the closed gate to the homestead. He informed us that the homestead has been closed for 18 months and is in receivership. Another PV employee at the mansion told us that the cafe` there was not making any money.

Check this location out during both the day and the night, do the ghost tour and you will be very impressed, on the night we went you could actually see interaction with one of the group having a very clear childs hand impression in her cardigan whilst we all looked on.

A few years ago this was a great place for families.. Beautiful old bluestone buildings, great area for kids to play.. Lovely walks.. It is now closed..apparently left a lot of brides out of pocket when they had booked for their big day..

I took my granddaughters to Point Cook Homestead because I wanted them to visit a beach (actually it is a marine park) in its natural state. The day we went the sea was 'roaring' with a mild breeze blowing reminding me of my younger days at the beach. We walked around the homestead and looked inside the homestead (gold coin donation) and just enjoyed a 'real' day at the beach without the commercialisation - there was no swimming. We enjoyed a light lunch at the cafe where the staff were so friendly. We also bumped into visitors from UK who thought the area wonderful.

I absolutely love this secret hideaway. The owners Sophie and Paul are the best hosts, but the location on the beach with a beautiful mansion to see if you wish, combined with the best food and an amazing wine list, what more can you want. This is my secret place to go to relax and enjoy a lovely day with friends. Don't tell everyone, please.
