Fascinating!

The hike to the bluff and down to the rocky beach is fantastic. Interesting rock formations and cliffs!

Decent walk, the added upgrades to the track make it a nice easy walk

I liked the added steps, boardwalks and art installations for seating done along the track. I heard it cost the TAS parks about 60mil to upgrade the treks in the area for the 3 capes track, but they are making their money back quickly.

Long walk, little reward at the end
Dec 2020
Had walked Cape Hauy the day before and somebody was not up to another big walk with steps. Took this option and went to the end at the rocks beneath the Bluff. Suggest just walking to the lookout which gives great views. The lookout is an easy 30-35 minutes and then double back and do the Raoul lookout. Could probably do both lookouts in 90-100 minutes of easy walking.

Great short walk
Nov 2020
Walked to the Shipstern Bluff lookout, which took me about 30 minutes each way.
The path is gently up or downhill and very well maintained. Almost all of it is through beautiful eucalyptus forest.
It is well worth the effort for a fantastic view of the bluff and coastline.

Loved it. Such wild country

Absolutely worth the walk to the lookout. Probably 30-40mins each way from the culdesac parking for moderate fitness. I’m not a hiker and did it in 30mins each way.
The view is amazing and the track is great. It gets foggy but if it’s windy the fog comes and goes.

Epic hike for even more epic views

Be sure to time it right for the sunrise - check the distance and add 20 mins to your calculations - because this is a sunrise you won’t want to miss! If you’re going for the waves check the weather forecast to ensure you’re going in the right conditions - note: the hike up is a tad steep.

Worth the walk
Nov 2019 • Couples
It’s a walk worth making and while not difficult it’s either up or down but the tracks are good and the view is one of the best you will find really stunning

Amazing views
Apr 2019 • Couples
Well maintained track and an easy walk to the lookout platform. Great seating and the most gorgeous views. A more difficult walk from the lookout down to the bluff but well worth the effort. Part of cliff face had collapsed but was still a great day out. Took some amazing photos. Steep walk back from bluff to the lookout but a great track and manageable to people with moderate fitness.

And to think extreme surfers surf it. Some of the best swell in the country makes for a wonderful photo opportunity. Great walk done it many times.

Delightful scenery
May 2018 • Couples
Walked in on the old convict road which starts a couple of hundred metres before the main track, and makes agood circuit walk.. Well worthwhile and good that land owner allows walkers through. Tunnel Bbay and Shipstern Bluff are very scenic locations and the views from up on the main track are spectacular..
