I was a bit bummed as zero ghosts were seen, only joking. What a great tour this was. MASSIVE shout out to our guide, Holly, an amazing young lady from Pennsylvania. You arrive at the Port Arthur visitor center 15 minutes prior to your tour and you are mustered into an area in the food court to wait. The tour guide comes and gets you and takes you outside to the staging area where they have some lanterns for guests to carry. I volunteered as I thought it would add to the ambience of our tour and enhance the trip. I found it amazing that no-one else stepped forward to take on and she Holly had to hand them out. Its a lantern people, do the experience. That covered, we wandered off into the night into a very dark historic site. A good scary start. Holly was excellent, she set the mood well, scared a few of the patron on the tour and gave a unique insight into the other side of the site. You visit the church, parsonage and the separate prison The best part was when we went into the Asylum / Separate prison for a look which was so much more somber of the night and a door loudly blew open from the wind outside while Holly was setting the scary scene of the past and a lot of the people on the tour screamed and jumped, it was hilarious. Make sure you book a tour to ensure you have a spot. This was an amazing experience and a must do, made all the better with our tour guide Holly.

We visited on a winter's evening (7.00pm) with our tour guide Nikki. Group size was capped at 20 to ensure the group is manageable and no one gets left behind. The tour took us through several stops at the historic site, where stories were told of supernatural sightings and events that has happened. Our excellent tour guide allowed us to take as much photos as possible during the tour and managed to get us all back safely. The tour is a walking tour throughout the site with toilet facilities at the start or at the end. There were also some children in our group. Great tour with great stories through with the historic site after dark! Would definitely recommend!

Amazing ghost tour after dark with ( Nikki I think her name was) She was amazing and really made it a proper chilling experience... I couldn’t wait to get out some of the rooms haha! Real life stories from other tours and from her own experiences which made it really interesting. We heard talking in the prison behind us when Nikki was chatting to us all which freaked half the group out. Also an overwhelming feeling of sadness to the point where i found it hard moving my face, it felt stuck it was weird! My partner took a picture in the Victors house and as he went to take a picture it was like a hand went over the lense and wouldn’t let him that it, was really weird! Highly recommended!!!

An interesting way to explore the historical sight. We appreciated the merge between the site’s history and links to the “supernatural”. The tour involves a lot of standing and listening to the tour guide so may not be suitable for young children. The tour guide however was brilliant and did a great job at bringing the stories to life. While this is an entertain take on the historic site we still highly recommend checking out the site during the day and participating in a walking tour.

It’s actually 4.5 stars as we didn’t see a ghost!! Wonderful After Dark dinner/ghost tour. The two course dinner at 1830 was superb (chargrilled octopus tender, duck cooked to perfection, beautiful beetroot salad with steak, apple crumble delicious) and the professional staff made for a very relaxing evening. Jim our ghost tour guide was animated, knowledgeable and a great yarn spinner. Thoroughly recommend as a unique way to explore Port Arthur.
