this is paradise

The sheer variety, expanse, kaliadescope of colour was breathtaking. The scent and sight was just beautiful. Old fashioned roses rubbed shoulders with the latest blooms.

The gardens have matured nicely since our last visit about 8 years ago. Well worth a visit, especially in Spring.

We went mid November so all the roses were in full bloom. What a treat. It is a great display and lets the gardener see the roses in flower so they can make an informed selection.

Outstanding collection and presentation of modern and old world roses. The best time is the festival of the roses in November. I visited again in January when we had extremely hot weather and it looked like a wilderness!

I vfisited the National Rose Garden when I stayed at Woolmers in September 2014. Sadly it was not rose season, but even so the gardens were beautiful. The apple trees were in full bloom and the bumble bees were happily dancing from blossom to blossom. The tulips were also blooming. The gardens are very well set out as is the... More

We came in May and of course the roses were out of season. We will come back in nov when they are in full bloom. My husband and I were amazed at the sheer size of the garden. Well worth the look.

We have been fortunate to visit the Rose Garden on several occasions and have enjoyed the garden in all four seasons. At the height of flowering the garden is an absolute delight with fragrances filling the air. The garden is most enjoyable at other times for an understanding of the layout of the garden and the various varieties and colour... More

Visited the garden whilst at the adjoining Woolmers Estate, not being a greenthumb myself it was still interesting enough to have a wander around for a while. It was a little late in the season to enjoy a full bloom but enough were present to imagine it. It looks exactly like an English Rose garden with the Rotunda at the... More

We stayed at Woolmers and so the Rose garden was included. We were at the end of the rose season but it was still very lovely, and in the context of the entire property it was a special experience, we will go back when the roses are in high season

As an adjoining garden to Woolmers this rose garden is heavenly. We visited in November and June. Both beautiful times to be enhanced.
