A fun experience with good informative displays. You can't visit without a go on the ship simulator, even "big kids" will enjoy this! Great cafe with good options and good value.

I fell in love with this Maritime Museum when I visited it. Could have stayed there all day. So much to see and experience. The history and photos of the various ships that traded between Tasmania and mainland is just amazing. If you had any...More

Our family 2A & 6C (1,2,5,7,8,10) really enjoyed the simulator but not much else. We've been to lots of museums (including Maritime) around the country on our travels and this one just doesn't have enough 'hands-on' stuff to keep the kids entertained. Hence why we...More

This centre/museum is a gem for Devonport, both informative and fun for the kids. They have a simulator that is computer generated for you to be a captain and steer your vessel in and out of Devonport avoiding all obstacles. It has a little cafe...More

OK, maybe Maritime does not appeal to you, but check this great little museum out. A minit walk from the Naked and Glistening statue by the sea this is a must see. And do spend the extra dollar to have a go at the simulator,...More

We found the centre through Discover Tasmania and because we have an interest in all things maritime, we included a visit in our Tassie itinerary. Rainy day in Devonport, so a great day to visit. There is LOADS of information with the exhibits, that begin...More
