The effort taken by the volunteers running this place is great in keeping the place in good shape. It is good if there had been more obvious plant labelling/tagging system there. One of the remarkable experience in Tasmania was that we were able to view...More

What a beautiful place to stroll and relax. Such a well maintained place considering its looked after by volunteers. Home made ice-cream just a bonus.

What a wonderful find the Tasmanian Arboretum was. I must admit that I'm a lover of trees, so this was right up my alley. However, the arboretum would appeal to many people. The gardens are presented effectively and I found the information plaques very informative,...More

I saw this on trip advisor and thought we wouldn’t see a platypus. But we actually did! At least two different ones! We had a nice picnic on a bench near the lake.

A few people do miss out on seeing the wild platypus. Waiting quietly is a good plan and you may also see some of the over 60 species of birds. We are glad you enjoyed your visit.

The arboretum is ran by friendly volunteers and is a lovely, quiet place to wander around. We spotted 2 platypus whilst crossing the little sodden bridge over the lake - it made my day!

Although spring time is a lovely time to be in a garden, I find the aboretum near Eugenana to be most pleasantly beautiful & relaxing in the autumn months, something about kicking up the fallen leaves reminds me of my childhood days & the colours...More

You're almost guaranteed to see platypus here, as they feed in the ponds in the middle of this interesting place. It's so nice to get away from it all here and ponder the lives of these wondrous creatures. It's a shame not all the remarkable...More

Almost all the plants TAI has planted have an id label but we can only afford so many display labels. However we are in the process of reviewing the whole and adding at least one display label to an example of each species we hold.

For those who don't understand the enormity of how wonderful this place is, quite apart from its natural beauty, this arboretum is a growing collection of trees from around the world. It was created by hard working volunteers and is maintained by same, going on...More
