Spirit of Tasmania is one of Australia’s most iconic travel experiences, operating sailings across Bass Strait between Melbourne and Devonport on Tasmania’s north coast. Spirit of Tasmania provides travellers with flexibility and convenience when planning a holiday. Our twin ships depart from both ports at 7.30pm and arrive the following morning at 6.00am. During peak season, we also operate day sailings departing from each port at 9.00am and arriving the same day at 6.00pm. On board, you can experience spectacular views, delicious food, great entertainment, relaxation and so much more! Experience the allure of sea travel. It’s fun, relaxing and stress-free. Simply drive on board for a holiday where half the fun is getting there. Embrace the ocean views, stroll the decks and breathe in the sea breeze - there’s nothing quite like it!

I was a walk on for an overnight trip & was pleasantly surprised by the facilities on board. Nice buffet meal, had a look on all decks & slept comfortably in recliner even though seas were rough. As a single female I had men either...More

We chose to do an overnight crossing to save on an extra night's accommodation in Tassie. The journey was relaxed, comfortable and enjoyable. Was glad we booked a cabin rather than sleeping in a recliner, but next time would book one with a porthole as...More

Check in policy should be more flexible. I arrived 10 minutes before 7:00pm and I was rejected boarding. I wasn't taking a car with me. The ferry does not leave until 7:30pm. Besides they didn't offer me a discount for getting another ticket for the...More

We went across in a porthole cabin, which was fine but returned in a inside cabin, which was better. Instead of the bunks being opposite, they are L shaped which gives you more space in the cabin. As we are a family of 5, we...More

Have never, ever, beeen so disgusted by a staff member of a tourist/hospitality company. Ever! We queued at reception to ask a couple of questions. Ahead of us a white Australian family were treated like royalty, next, two nice Asian ladies were treated like dirt....More

I do not know about the others that travelled on the ship, but one of the chefs were being quite racist to my family on our way to collect food. It was quite weird, because he assumed we could not speak English and saying "you...More
