If you need to take your car. Not really value for money otherwise.

A completely fuss free check in at Melbourne if you don't mind waiting in a queue with your car for 1 hour prior to loading. Once on board it is slightly hectic for 10 minutes or so while their crew shout instructions are assess your hand held luggage for alcohol. Once on board you are directed to your allotted cabin... Fantastic experience, great staff, we took our own vehicle, so easy to get on and off the boat. We live in Tassie and had never done the crossing, so glad we did, will definitely sail again. I rang to book, so easy the lady i spoke to was so helpful, the trip wasn't cheap but well worth the experience.

Very efficient service, excellent staff. Newly updated ferries very pleasantly appointed. Food and drinks on board good quality and selection. On-board streaming service (free wifi) didn't work for us. Paid wifi service is available. We decided to give the overnight recliner lounge a try since we didn't have time constraints, and were pleasantly surprised. It is quiet and as comfortable... More

When taking the Spirit of Tasmania Melbourne to Devonport on Sat Feb 11 i was directed by TTline staff to drive my 12 seat bus away from a high clearance area to a low clearance area. My Ford Transit was booked as a high clearance vehicle. The clearance looked tight but the staff member kept waving me in under a... More

Having travelled the spirit many times it was our first time since the "revamp" generally i found the improvements overall good , though i feel the "restraunt" a bit of a feed lot . Unfortunately the disembarkment was Verrrry Slowwww , so don't make an appointment on the other side as you may well miss it ( like we did... More

A day cabin is recommended for an improved sailing experience. It enables you to lay down and sleep if desired as well as peace and quiet. You can still move around the ship when feeling inclined. The private bathroom, shower and toilet are also a bonus.

We have done the Spirit on our bikes for the last 5 years and the novelty does not wear off. Yes you have to queue and wait to get on and last night we were delayed on our way back from Devonport, but in the whole scope of things, big deal. The Spirit looks great with the refurbishment, the cabins... More

I was concerned with taking a ship to tazzie, not all ferry operators are helpful with customer concerns. Anyway my concerns were completely unfounded, the staff could not have been more helpful or friendly. Thank you.

The Boat was delayed by 2 hours on the way from Melbourne and then it was delayed by 3 hours on the return from Devonport. No meal tickets or amenities were offered as an apology for inconvenience.
