Cherie was an informative interesting guide who took us on a wonderful day’s adventure sampling a wide range of produce from the north west corner of Tasmania Not only was it beautiful (from the beautiful coast to the patchwork of the countryside) we also got to taste delicious locally produced cheese, wine, olive oil, chocolates and berry ice cream made fresh for us. One of the highlights was seeing a platypus swimming around a lake that we stopped at. Thoroughly lovely day.

We had a fantastic day with Cherie. She was waiting for us when we got off the ship at 8.30am, and dropped us back around 4pm, so it was a full-on day. So much to see and do around Burnie, and I know we only just scratched the surface. Cherie is very enthusiastic and knowledgeable, and it was so much better than doing a group tour. We had scallop pie for morning tea - delicious! We saw platypus, went to a salmon farm, chocolatier, olive farm, vineyard for wine tasting and lunch, cheese shop, and finally cherry ice cream on the way back to the ship. We bought lots of food to take home, so we can now have a taste of Tassie for quite some time 😁 Cherie was a great tour guide and host, and personalized our tour beforehand, and on the day to cater for the weather. Highly recommend.

Visited Burnie for a port stop from our cruise and booked online. Cherie met us at Makers Market with the warmest smile, she drove our small group around to see Burnie natural scenery of opium and poppy fields. Along the way stopped at Bluehills honey farm to taste different types of honey. Cherie provide us with homemade treats to keep us going throughout the day. Went to the Nut for lunch she rang ahead so our orders were ready she took those that were willing on the cable chair to enjoy lunch at the top. We were able to walk around Stanley historical town and visit boat harbour beach. Cherie was so knowledgeable and had so much passion for Burnie. Anyone visiting Burnie I would highly recommend Australian wild harvest tour with Cherie.

Cherie was an excellent guide and her passion about Tasmania and it’s food and natural scenery was infectious. Wished we had more time to explore the diverse culinary bounty (we were cut short by our cruise line). Cherie was very amenable in meeting our desires and wishes. She also brings along a few surprise treats that makes the tour even more enjoyable. You cannot go wrong with a tour with Cherie.

We visited Burnie on a stopover from our cruise ship and booked our tour online. Cherie met us at the Makers' Market and drove us around the district. We had a fabulous day, despite the unfriendly weather (Cherie had warned us to bring wet-weather gear, so we were well prepared). It was amazing how much Cherie was able to show us in such a short time. We loved the fields of opium poppies along the way. Some of the highlights were the honey farm at Mawbanna, with its delicious honey tasting, Dip Falls, the Big Tree in the Tarkine, the Nut, lunch in Stanley (scallop pies, yum), a walk around historic Stanley, and a visit to Boat Harbour Beach. Cherie was very knowledgeable about the Burnie area and the North-West and we thoroughly enjoyed our day and would recommend Australian Wild Harvest to anyone visiting this beautiful area of Tasmania.

Thanks so much for taking the time to review your day out to Stanley. Even in dull weather, it is difficult not to like the beautiful spots we have here on the NW coast, and I am so pleased that you enjoyed the day as much as I did showing you around. Happy cruising.
