We had to see this big old tree, imagine if it could talk and share what it has seen through the years. It is very big and was great to see!

On one branch a lot of the cork had been removed so you could actually see the tree. I didn't realize that the cork (bark) was so thick. Recommend a visit

Not particularly exciting, but if you are having a look around town, no harm in stopping by - it is not out of your way.

This tree has a delightful story of making the trip from England in a jam tin in 1861... and ironically it's now located in 'Wood' street. :) Traditionally the trees were considered to be a source of strange power, so people would visit them to...More

The kids were genuinely interested (one we got there) having never seen a cork tree before. So it was worth the five minute round trip detour from the New England Highway going through the middle of Tenterfield. There is a lot more information about cork...More

This tree was brought from England in 1861. While we stop and look at old buildings, this also is a must see. The tree is huge and the bark is so gnarled. What stories it could tell!

Not sure how to review a tree! It is a stunner indeed, in a quiet part of town, though the house next door and across the road might disagree. I have a cork tree too but I won't be seeing it at its full potential...More

Very appropriate location for tree in wood street. Branches of this large imposing tree overhang the street. A real eye opener to see an actual cork tree for first time. Amazing to see the origin of corks and realise its a natural product

Massive and impressive tree full of character. A range of colourful birds were present when we visited, which was by foot from the Main Street. Note the signs: was told at the visitor centre that branches dropping is real so it would be worthwhile paying...More
