Capt. Luis and his deckhand Jonathan will pick you up in Puerto Vallarta or Yelapa. His boat, the IZA, is spotless and very well equipped. He will certainly put you on fish, you may catch pompano, marlin, dorado, rooster fish or sail fish.Luis will even make ceviche from the first fish that you can enjoy while fishing.

We went out with Luis and Johnathon on a Thursday morning and couldn’t have had a better day. They are truly great hosts with a wonderful boat loaded with everything you would need to be successful on the water. We managed to reel in 4 fish in total with 1 keeper (a beautiful mahi mahi). Johnathon whipped up some amazing ceviche on the boat that can’t be beat anywhere. We got to see a beautiful sunrise and there were many whales playing on the waters that added extra bonuses. If you like fishing do not pass up this chance for a once in a lifetime experience.

Louis and Jonathan are extremely knowledgeable and gave us the best day on the water. The boat and equipment are all top notch in excellent condition. We have chartered in many spots over the years and I would say Garcia charters are one of best we have had the pleasure of fishing with. Jonathan’s knife skills while making ceviche is amazing, and it is possibly the best ceviche we’ve had. They offer packages to suit all your needs, full day, half day or what ever works for you. The price point in my opinion is a great deal for what they provide. Can’t thank you enough Luis Jonathan

We spent a beautiful day with Luis and Jonathan today.I lost count of the fish we caught! 8 hours on the water went very quickly especially when there was so much action.
Whales,flying fish,dolphins and a swimming trip through caves to a secret beach.What more could you ask for?
Totally recommend Luis and and Jonathan.

My sons and I fished with Luis and his first mate Jonathan and had an awesome day. Luis's boat is great, well equipped and he and Jonathan have deep knowledge of the area. We caught lots of fish including Jack Trevaly, Bonito, Red Snapper, Spanish Mackeral and more. On top of all that they made the best ceviche on the way home which was its own carnival trick of sorts: Jonathon fillets better than anyone I have ever seen and makes ceviche on a moving boat - waves and swells - which was amazing. Great people, great fishing guides - I could not recommend them more highly.

We visited Yelapa and Captain Luis's boat trip was the highlight of our trip. We sent out on a whale-watching trip and surprised by so much more. Luis skillfully navigated the boat alongside several dolphin pods where we could watch them play and race alongside the boat. We were even able to see a baby dolphin swimming and playing with their mom. Luis's experience of the local area and ocean was abundantly clear as we also saw several wales and a school of manta rays. I would highly recommend taking a trip with Luis to explore the coast.

We had the best time fishing with Garcia Charters!!! We did a 4 hour trip, and caught tons of Bonita and a Toro! Luis captained the boat and his helper Johnthan helped us with our lines, cleaned the fish, and made us the most delicious ceviche with the fish we caught! Such talent! They were were wonderful. His boat was extremely clean, and he spoke fluent English. I would 100% recommend them to anyone! Hopefully we will be back soon!

This was our first time deep sea fishing and Captain Luis ensured we had a great experience and brought home some catch! He had us leave at 7am which was the right call as we caught everything within the first hour: one Dorado and two Skipjack Tuna. Luis counseled us on how to reel in the fish for success. His deckhand Jonathan made fabulous ceviche from our Skipjack Tuna and kept the boat tidy. They brought us to two great snorkeling sights and let us hang on a private beach. Boat was comfortable if not siscious for party of two. Can’t wait to each our fresh-caught Dorado at Abuelos Restaurant tonight! Stellar experience all around!

Juan Carlos and Jonathan took us on an unforgettable day of fishing, snorkeling and visiting beaches in the Marieta Islands. We left the beach below Garcia Rentals in Yelapa in the dark at 7 am and cruised out to the fishing grounds between Las Islas Marietas and El Morro, trolling as the sun came up and woke up the fish. My son caught a large Pargo Coconaco and was all smiles. Later, I pulled in a Bonito that provided us with the best ever ceviche lunch. On the way over to the islands, my daughter pulled in another Pargo. We split the fish with our guides and came home with three huge fillets to make fish tacos for the rest of the week. At the islands we checked in with the National Park rangers and then swam to a beautiful beach with caves and natural arches, snorkeled along rocky cliffs seeing thousands of beautiful tropical fish, and then visited the Cueva de Amor beach accessed by swimming through a long tunnel arch to an amazing sandy beach encircled by cliffs. Juan Carlos were funny and warm, great with my teenage kids, and amazing navigators, fishermen, and generous hosts. We'd recommend these guys to anyone. Luis was unavailable at the last minute due to the passing away of his aunt, but our trip was unforgettable.

Louis is great! I asked him to help me go out of his wheel house and try targeting fish with a fly and he didn’t disappoint! We landed Pompana, Bonito, and two huge Jaks! Ontop of being great company and having killer music, he came prepared with cold beer and made fresh ceviche on the boat …. Which was the best ceviche I had on the entire trip!

Luis works with your party from the very start, setting up flexible days/times and all you need to know to make a great outing for a family. Our son was stoked to catch his first mahi mahi and hooked on to it while Jonathon was making ceviche from the torros we caught earlier. The boat is comfy, clean and Luis and Jonathon are tuned into everything on the water and they communicate with you the whole time. A local told us on the way over that he only fishes with Luis as "he's the best," and he was right. If you're in Yelapa with fishing in mind, go with Luis and Jonathon.
