I’ve previously left a scathing review of Umberslade from around 2017/2018. However, things have changed!
Umberslade recently had an overhaul and I’ve got to say it’s definitely for the better.
It’s no longer focussed on being a farm park and has lots of mini adventures to focus on. We booked for the forest school which was £21 for two children and two adults. It’s an hour and a half long and the time flew. My children are 5 and 1 and I was concerned there wouldn’t be enough for the 1 year old but he loved it just as much as the 5 year old. On arrival we were told we could go and grab a coffee before it started. The coffee shop is fantastic. Great choice of food and drinks. Lovely kids packed lunches for £5.
We were then led down to the forest which is absolutely full of fun activities for the kids. During the period, the “teacher” gives a tutored session on something (this changes each time). Today it was making beautiful flags using flowers and sticks.
Our kids didn’t want to leave. But be warned, it can get messy and wet if the kids really want to get involved so be prepared in wellies and wet puddle suits! Or take a change of clothes.
After the session we decided to stay on and get lunch at the cafe. It was busy and we were warned of a half an hour wait for food but their timings were spot on and it was nice to be kept informed. Plenty of tables inside and out for picnics. And at the weekend there’s a pizza shack there too.
The kids still didn’t want to leave so we made the most of seeing some of the animals and also went on the playground area which is beautifully clean and has a more toddler friendly side and one for older children. Again with plenty of tables around for waiting parents.
Toilets are brand new- plenty of them and amazingly clean.
Honestly couldn’t fault the place and we’ll definitely be returning!

We went along to do a 5k walk, there were several things we enjoyed.
The walk, it was through a number of fields with varying crops and flowers. A map was provided and a small proportion of the fee paid goes to a mental health charity.
As you come back into the farm you come past several animals which our children really enjoyed.
The cafe is nice and friendly
There are two parks for varying ages which really suits us as a family.
Toilets were clean and numerous.
We may consider going to try out camping there as it’s not too far from home to act as a safety net!!

Amazing. We were greeted by charlotte who took us to meet the ponies before we chose which one we wanted to ride. My little girl chose Dibbi and Charlotte helped her walk Dibby to another stable so we could groom and prep Dibby for the walk. Charlotte was very friendly and chatty with loads of facts and knowledge making it 2 way. Once we were ready we set of while charlotte talked us through where we were going (up the big mountain) and through muddy puddles . While we were passing the children's play area Charlotte pointed out the little girl who had kindly let us use her pony... she was waving as excitedly as we felt. Once we got to the top of the hill we had a few moments off the pony to jump in the muddy puddles and take pictures before heading back. Once back we took the saddle from Dibbi before walking Dibbi back to his pen and feed him a treat. The whole experience was absolutely fantastic and worth EVERY penny. Charlotte was so friendly, warm and welcoming so much so my little girl chatted her head off!! Thank you so much to Charlotte and Umberlade for making a little girls christmas wish come true. We hope to be back very soon.

Weve just been for a visit at the farm today for our sons 2nd Birthday.
A little confused what we were charged £15 for? £5 entry for the children's indoor play that had a house with a few bark chippings, a sandpit,a tiny soft play area nothing more for a 2 year old.
Why are adults charged £5 each?
An outdoor play area which was okay but have the exact same at our local park.
No food to feed the animals.
The farms not really toddler friendly, my son stung himself on the stinging nettles overcrowding out the chicken fence.
Was in and out within 40 minutes.
Waste of time and money.

I feel that the entrance fee for Umberslade is really not value for money. We paid £25 for a family of 4 to visit the sunflower fields, however I think that £2.50 per person would have been more than an adequate charge given the limited activities available. The farm is undoubtedly beautiful, and kept immaculately clean, however I feel that charging a family £25 for seeing 1 x pig, 4 x goats, some ducks and some chickens is verging on daylight robbery. When we arrived there were no staff visible, merely an a-board with, “check-in point” written on it adjacent to a closed door emblazoned with the word, “staff”. As we had booked online we hovered around for someone to turn up and reiterate the rather meagre offering we had already encountered. I can only but wholeheartedly apologise if there were other activities that we missed, but I really don’t feel that Umberslade is in anyway comparable to the likes of Hatton, All Things Wild, or Adam’s Farm. That said, the staff were pleasant and the coffee was excellent.

I and some friends had a wonderful weekend camping there this August.
The facilities are amazing; brand new, clean shower cubicles and toilets, a covered pot washing area, a fantastic cafe, and a craft pizzeria/bar in a barn.
Oliver, whose family have run the site for nearly 200 years, was very very welcoming for me and my friends who go there every year for our mutual appreciation of Nick Drake (who grew up in Tanworth-in-Arden). He even offered to mow the field especially, although we all felt was unnecessary just for us. The glamping pods looked great and there were porta-loos for those who couldn't make it to the toilet block at night. Everyone else camping on site was quiet and respectful. The farm appears well run, and the animals a joy to see.
Fantastic all round, thanks guys!

We booked the inside play barn yesterday for our little boys 5th birthday party, it’s the most amazing play area. All the parents said how fresh, clean and tidy it was. I would 100% recommend one to book any part of Umberslade , the whole place is just superb for family and friends to have a brilliant day out whatever the weather. Thank you to the team there, we really did have an excellent time.

We went here last week for the first time and was not disappointed! It is only a small farm compared to others I have visited but there was something for the kids to do every half an hour whilst also being able to look around the farm. There were things such as tractor rides, feeding animals and petting them too! There was an Hawaiian disco in the indoor play area with fancy dress to use and my child and his cousins had so much fun! Great value for money... one of the best farms we have been too!

We booked the play barn which was fantastic. My boys loved it.
Really clean environment and lots of different areas to play on. It was suitable for toddlers and older children.
They also loved seeing the chickens, sheep, goats and pigs.
The staff were also very welcoming and friendly. Would highly recommend!

Are there toilet facilities if you go camping there?
Hello, thank you for your question.
Yes there are toilet facilities at our campsite. We have 3 gas showers and 3 toilets within the wooden cabin buildings.
We hope to see you at the farm soon!

There are small sit on self propelled cars. At different times there are activities which involves children in bottle feeding calves, lambs and other small animals. You can pet rabbits, chicks, rats etc. What child doesn't like tractors........Take a ride on the tractor trailer, lovely when the sun is shining. There are ducks and hens to feed. Hope this helps.

haven't camped there myself but they do have an attractive looking campsite along with some yurts????
I think they also have large teepees available and they have had wedding receptiobs there so I'm guessing the standard is quite high

Has there been any action on this from the farm or is it a stated position of the farm to treat non-caucasians differently. Am not sure if I should take my family unless the farm clarifies on this.
Thanks for posting this. It is important that Businesses understand that this kind of behaviour is not acceptable in modern day Britain.

We visited in June and experienced no discrimination. Staff were polite, friendly and professional to all members of our party irrespective of ethnicity (and we a very mixed bunch of ethnicities)
