I took a party of 15 to visit these caves. After a warm welcome, we were given a very interesting and informative tour of the caves. The enthusiasm of our guides made it an enjoyable experience, at a very reasonable price.. I never realised that so many houses in Reigate have tunnels beneath them. The Barons Cave is totally different and well worth a visit

We visited all three caves on a day trip to Reigate and all had something different to offer. It was the hottest day of the year so far so it was quite nice to cool off in the caves! The guides were enthusiastic and gave us interesting information without droning on too long or talking about anything too technical. Our kids aged 6 and 8 absolutely loved the tours, there wasn’t too much walking and it wasn’t scary. The guides were great at encouraging them to ask questions and didn’t belittle their queries. The self-guided cave had some fun little activities included for the kids that kept them busy while the adults were reading the information panels. I would thoroughly recommend these tours as part of a day out in Reigate.

Absolutely fascinating and interesting guided tour of the caves. What a calming and peaceful experience too. Followed by the equally interesting self-guided tour of the East Cave. Fabulous couple of hours. Will definitely be booking Barons cave as well in the future.

Visited reigate caves at the weekend, had an amazing guide called Kevin, he was fun of interesting information about the caves and the history. Loved that he was also able to relate to his own childhood experience during the war. Loved it all would love to do the other cave in the future.

The caves are only open a few dates each year and I was lucky to be in the area for one of the open days. The directions on the web site were really clear and there were lots of signs showing the way. We were short on time so only did Barons cave. The tour lasted about 45 minutes and was really interesting. The cave is man made but is really old and formed part of the Norman castle. It was candle lit which made it even more atmospheric. Highlights were me were the stairs up to the castle and the large Norman cellar. The kids loved the echo when the tour guide dropped a large stone. There is a guidebook on sale if you wanted to know more.

I went with a friend, we were in a group of around 15 people.

The tour was very interesting and showed a completely different side of Reigate. Our guide gave us a very good commentary on the history of the caves, or mines as they were, including their use as air raid shelters in the war.

After the tour we did the rest of the tour experience, which is self-guided. It includes a wine cellar and some other war-related exhibits, again, very interesting.

The tour lasts around an hour and a half and is excellent value for money. Highly recommended, especially if you’re local and haven’t yet been.

Very cheap and great day out. If you like to explore and spend day away from home then visit the caves. Good experience.

Definitely worth a visit. Two fascinating sites: one from the castle, one sand mine. Does not take long and you will look at Reigate completely differently.
