Fascinating place to visit as part of Heritage Open Days. So lovely that the building has been saved and still serves creativity in the local community. Excellent café too!

Absolutely perfect

We have just returned from a lovely full English breakfast at The Farnham Pottery cafe. My husband and I both had the ‘small’ full English which was more than enough for us both. Fresh quality produce cooked well. Kim took the time to talk to us about the history of the building and about the area as we are just visitors. Kim and the rest of the staff were great. So glad we found this hidden gem!

This is one of our favourite go to places in Farnham. The café is under new management and the food is even better than before. Friendly service, good background music, usually some good art on the walls and such a pleasantly quirky venue. Yes, wonderfully cool in the summer and depending on where you sit you might want to have an extra cardigan with you in winter. Well worth a visit. Plenty of parking.

Oh dear!
Sep 2019
Just when we thought we had found a great place for breakfast/ brunch, it changes hands.
Sad to say this is not an improvement or even a continuation of the previous high standards. The quality of the ingredients has slipped, more Tesco than Farmers market and the service also leaves something to be desired.
The waiting staff are great, however they are let down by the very slow kitchen and the not so helpful management.
I had to send my entire breakfast back, because it was cooked to death, with hard eggs, cardboard bacon and burnt tomatoes. The manager implied it was my fault somehow that I didn't " like " the meal.
It was changed however and a new meal provided, but after a very long wait, by which time my other half had finished her breakfast and then had to sit there while I ate mine. Which spoiled the morning somewhat.
It does seem a shame, when we have several excellent butchers locally, not to source the best local ingredients and cook them with care!

Mix art craft and cafe
Sep 2019
If you want a different type of cafe with an emphasis on art then this is a place to visit. It was a working pottery making tiles, pots and chimney pots until the change of use to the present artistic centre and cafe. The centre still has 320 potters who come for various sessions over the week to throw and create pottery. Although there is as an old kiln on site the firing is now done in modern electric kilns. Worth looking and marvelling at the original kiln- it had a working temperature of 1,100C and items were fired over 30+ hours.
Inside the cafe is a mix of hipster and old industrial with items of art on display all around.
A new and interesting venue with a very friendly owner who gave us the history of the place.

Lovely brunch

There has been a ‘changing of the guard’ at the Pottery Cafe and the Lemon Tree is now running the show. I loved this place under its old management so am pleased to report that I love it under its new management too!😊. Very friendly staff served up a generous portion of delicious scrambled egg with avocado/bacon and a delicious scone was accompanied by a tasty fennel based salad. Lovely!😀

Friendly staff, pleasant ambience
Jun 2019 • Business
Came upon this venue due to hiring an upstairs room. Beautiful interior in an imperfect historical ambient atmosphere. Nice and cool downstairs on a hot summer day. It can be a bit hectic around 10am for the cafe, but the staff are accommodating, honest, efficient and talented. The car park infringes a little on the outside area that could probably benefit from a little more greenery separating the cars from seating areas. The food smells delicious and the coffee is stimulating, but there are decaf and soya milk alternatives. The upstairs room overlooking the car park and hills beyond is open, light and very pleasing, although the chairs are uncomfortable. Overall a fantastic mellow atmospheric venue for a delicious nibble with friends or a room hire. On a weird note, the toilet is rustic, clean and a pleasant linger!

Bit mixed!
May 2019 • Couples
First of all, this is a great space, atmospheric, quirky but honest. Food is usually fresh, imaginative and attractive on the plate. Choosing hearty comfort food on a surprisingly chilly late spring day, we were rather disappointed. The inside of the Jamaican Patty was flavoursome and moist but the pastry tilted more to the tough than the crumbly or even moist. The fish cake had good flavours but was just a bit too solid - the salads lifted what might otherwise have been a bit of a disappointing meal.

I mentioned a surprisingly chilly spring day - unfortunately the cafe could only have been described as cold the day we went - resorted to putting coats back on. Appreciate that the folks working in the open to view kitchen were busy and warm but we were so keen to get back into our car and put the heating on we decided not to bother with an end of meal coffee!

Visited with my mum and baby midweek for brunch and we both had the avocado on sourdough with poached egg. Both came with homemade tomato or chilli jam which we’d have bought by the jar if we could! Service was really great and the setting itself is lovely. Will definitely be going again.

Top notch cafe
Mar 2019 • Couples
Really good cafe which uses locally sourced produce, bakes it's own bread and cakes and serves it all in a very nicely repurposed venue. We all enjoyed a variety of breakfast/ brunch dishes and could not fault the quality. Prices are good too!
